R Owners - What's your year/mileage?
I'd love to know what life span the R really has. On the used market it seems people trade them at 100K or less.

2006 R500 106k miles...despite some issues over the past 6 years (most covered by cpo warranty), it is still prob the safest feeling car I've ever driven/owned for bad weather. Given the low trade in value, I could see driving this car until it dies as I don't think there's better sub-$75k car out there that is better (2013+ GL is pretty nice, but I would not trade for earlier GLs).

Our 2009 (on the road since Nov. 15, 2008), has around 130000 Km. It's been a superb car, but it has been plagued with warranty repairs over the years. As mentioned by someone else here, we will be driving her to the ground.

2007 R320 69,000 miles. Only items replaced so far include a glow plug, rear latch, parking sensor, and few elective service bulletin items. Otherwise, just maintenance and consumables. Can't complain.

2007, R350, 74K miles, bought just a few months ago. So far new accessory belt and pulley, main battery, bulb, front rotors and pads (today), and had a Curt receiver installed.
My wife loves it and I'm getting to hone my DIY skills, lol.

2008 320CDI 152K Km or about 95K Miles. yep lots of problems. I got it as a CPE and put it on a lease.. Lease is up in December I will probably buy it. I love the car. buyout plus any repairs would still be far less than a new comparable car. Will drive it a few more years till its dead! I do have a car allowance and repairs are tax deducible so its not so bad.

About the trade in, no idea yet but I am not holding my breath.

Not to get too OT, but I've been reading GREAT things about the Macan as well - much better than I had expected, so not surprised about all the pre-orders at Porsche dealers(plus they are known for padding their own orders to create demand).
My gut feel is that the car will be pretty "hot" for a while, and could even be a good lease for 3 yrs as the car will likely be worth more than the residual at term end.
That said, it's obviously smaller than the R500 and will likely be more of a bigger 911, lol.
