The Top 20 Dumbest Cars Of All Time, including R class

I saw on MSN. com today. R class is one of the dumbest cars.
What do you think about the article if you have read it?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... and those articles are generally perception based and I'd rather believe that the poor R got squashed between the ML and GL series and the demand wasn't there enough for it to get any traction.
But for me, it's a lovely vehicle, it's solid, powerful, doesn't make me (and more importantly the wife) feel like driving a truck, and sits our family (4 kids!) wonderfully.
In a couple of years I'm planning on grabbing a last production year R to replace my R500 ... we love the car that much.
Whats the alternative (for us with 6 seats needed) ? Minivan or SUV ... but the R is neither and we're happy about that

Nothing dumb about it. A low-riding fuel efficient 7 passenger vehicle.

I just read that article. It's probably one of the 20 dumbest I've ever read. It clearly demonstrates the concept that if one doesn't like something, it must be dumb.

The writer who wrote that article has a damaged brain. He has no idea and had not owned or driving one.

From a product marketing point of view, yes the R was a flop in North America. That does not mean it was a bad car, just that there where not enough buyers that liked it's qualities.
I find it the best car I have ever had. It is amazingly silent and comfortable, all weather Kampf Wagen. Loves to haul wood from Home Depot, or the boat trailer as much as it likes to take us in luxury to the German Ball. I hope to keep mine for at least another 5 years. I will miss it when I can't replace it.

I can't say I love mine but can't say I know of another automobile that offers what it does. It handles anything I throw at it. I took it to the mountains last winter and while we were there a snowstorm moved in. I was amazed at how well it moved through the snow.

I put an order for a new R-class before it came out back in 2005. When the first time I saw it in person, it had to be the ugliest Mercedes at the time. It eventually grew on me after 2 years and I end up bought an used R500.

I truly believe if MB came out with the 2012 facelift model first, the car will be a better seller. I do agree with the list and frankly, the front of the pre-facelift model did look a bit strange.

It is still one of the best utility car that I have ever owned. If MB decides to bring the new R-class back to the market, I would seriously consider to buy another one today.
