Will 265/60/R18 Tires (on 18x9 Rims) fit an R500
Apologies for the dup post (i couldn't change the subject line).Folks, I am trying to figure out if 265/60/R18 tires on 18x9 wheels (ET56) will fit on my 2006 R500.
My 2006 R500 has 18x8 Rims with a 67 Offset and 255/55/R18 tires (total diameter of 29 inches).
The new wheels are +56 So the wheels are going to stick out more but may be ok. However the tires are 265/60/R18 which have a diameter of 30.5 inches (stock is 29 inches). Will the tires rub in the fender due to the additional 1.5 inches in diameter? Anyone know how tall of a tire the R500 can accept? I like the idea of going with extra sidewall for a softer ride.

I traded rims with a GL owner (19" rims, stock wheel size for GLs). As I recall, there was a bit of rubbing on the liner at full turn. I didn't keep this configuration long as the wheels needed to be replaced.
Also, keep in mind the spare tire is sized for the stock R tire size. Going to GL sized wheels means that your spare will be significantly smaller.

Do you recall which year GL it was? And any chance remembering the tire size? Thanks
