If anybody is interested in the new GST scheduled for release in the Fall 2005 I have posted some pictures in the Suggestion & Feedback Forum. These are from the car shown at the Paris show so I understand. It has changed interior wise from the Concept images shown earlier. There is no Forum for the GST yet but since this will also be built next to the ML line and be priced above the ML, I thought I would post it here where there may be interest.

I like the interior. Exterior is OK. I wonder how much the price is going to be?

The interior is captioned with "European Version" so I don't know whether it will be closer to the earlier concept versions for the US or not.

Pricing for the Vision R will probably be in the $60-80,000 range. The lower being with the new 350 V6 and perhaps the higher being with the new V8 somewhere down the line. The Vision R comes pretty well loaded as I understand it.

Hopefully by Spring 2005 there will be more specifics available after some auto shows.

It is my next set of wheels for sure...

The interior is very nice with a new style dash and center stack. The look is quite modern and clean. I don't care for the lower steering wheel arms though, it just dosen't go with the rest of the car. A M-B for the anti-SUV, won't-be-caught-dead-in-a-minivan crowd.

I agree with the minivan look-a-like, ala Pacifica. But I have had almost every MB model since the early 70's and this looks like a good one to close the book on. I want a feature loaded vehicle with lots of room that doesn't look like a truck. The only thing that may change my mind is a CDI in the present E wagon.

Do you know if this thing will have 6 or 7 seats? I keep reading conflicting reports.

Pictures show it as a total of 6 seats. See the overhead shot on my site and it shows the layout. I have seen it referred to as a 4+2 arrangement.

a handsome car, but i wished they were more adventurous, like with the new A-class. then again, at this price range, conservatism might be the order of the day

i can already predict how the european press is going to go on about the number of buttons on the dash, though :P ah well, lets hope this time they realise "simpler-looking" does not mean "simpler-to-use" =)

can't wait to see a first drive of this car
