It’s with a heavy heart that I’ll be leaving the W251 forum.
A few weeks ago I was hit at an intersection.
It was a relatively minor accident.
I walked away and wasn’t even sore afterwards but the R is done.
I was hoping to drive this baby for at least 500k miles so I’m really bummed out about that as I invested a lot in its timely maintenance and care.
I bought this R-Class to bring my newborn son home from the hospital back in 2013. It’s been a fantastic vehicle to own and I HONESTLY never had any serious issues with it.
This went against the horror stories we hear here and there. But I had it on a SEVERE duty maintenance schedule and when something broke… I fixed it ASAP..
This R taught me to be proactive with my services and repairs which was a far cry from the way I treated my daily beater. And it paid off with years of great and reliable service.
This was my first MB but certainly wont be my last.
Its sitting at the end of my driveway and it makes me sad the way it ended. I’m starting to part everything out so if anyone needs anything just let me know.
Im located in the Metro Atlanta area so if you want to come and grab a door card, dashboard parts or even the whole dashboard feel free.
I can also pull and ship parts to you if you are not local (within reason).
ODIUS - we will miss you. You showed us what could be done to keep the R cars relevant after 10+ years. The R car is our family's favorite ride and we have owned two, 2006 R500 and now 2010 R350. The 2010 was owned by one of the Law & Order actors and had only 45000 miles on it and now we are at 85000. Planning a cross country trip in it for Thanksgiving. Like you, I want to drive the wheels off of it. We keep trying new Crossovers and SUV's but none come close to what we have with the R cars.
If you could sell yours to one of our members then they can take up where you left off.
