Is the R63 AMG going to be the most rare AMG?
As I understood Mercedes is going to sell all R types from september 2007 in the AMG look without charges. They call this a facelift!!!! They even drop the AWD system to justify much lower salesprices! Nobody can tell if they still will produce the ultimate R63 AMG version, which is in my opinion the most excellent, versatile, powerfull and comfortable car without any competition (That's why I bought it). Maybee the R63 AMG will become the most rare Mercedes ever build!

respect the r63 , so atractive , i dont pay attention as much to an amg as when you see teh r becuase you never see it , its hot , great car for family , fast as ********* too so **** the haters go r63

Everybody could argue about is it's design. You like it or you hate it. But the R63 AMG has no competitors: It has all benefits of a SUV without their disadvantages! Okay the frontdesign could be a little more aggressive. I bought it because it drives without compromises and handles so well!
My question was: Who knows how few R63 are being produced. Does anybody know real productionnumbers?

Extreemly low. In Europe apparently NONE were sold. None what soever. Zero. 0.
Perhaps some went to the middle east.
In this forum I believe there are no actual owners of the R63.

If you want the ultimate sleeper get an E55 or E63 Wagon. The only way I'd get an R car is if I was a funeral director or was mad at my wife. I won't even take one as a loaner when it's offered.

bro it looks more agressive than your e55 lol , and it looks more expensive and much more exclusive , common you barely see r63 , i bet you never even seen it in person to talk about it like that , people acutaly turn their heads to it , not to an e55 it looks like e320 , i understand 63 is agressive and **** , but 55 im not feeling it thattttttttt much.

I live near Beverly Hills and surprisingly didn't seen an R63 till we had one in for tuning. Since then I haven't seen one on the street. I think they're one of the rarest AMG's out now, though I could be wrong, which has happened in the past

I started this thread because I own a R63, while living in Belgium! It's strange that people know better than I do that none cars went to Europe!
Probably there are about 15 cars spread over Europe.
This is the niciest car I ever had!!!

You really get scared when you use its full potential.
You can drive it smooth and slowly and the next second you can use it as a highperformance sportscar and back. (You get addicted to this).
A 63 GL AMG, if it would exist, could never perform as well because of its higher centre of gravity.
Does the competition sleep????
It would be a pitty if MB dropped this edition, because very few people ever had the chance to see one closer!

From how it looks there are people who hate the R and those who enjoy it. I have an R350 run about beat up and park outside at work car and I must say its quite impressive once you get around the odd styling.
The car drives very well for its size and I bet the AMG version is better.
For someone looking for a car to carry 6 people around in comfort and at a speedy clip its a good car. For people looking to make a statement about style the R wont do that so well.
I have seen maybe 5 here in Los Angeles over the last year but thats not many when you consider that almost every car around is an AMG.
The R63 will go down as a flop but thats because it just has no real market. I agree its pointless but hey I also say its a good car if you have the desire to own one. I pay 350 a month for my 70k R350 but I would have real issues paying 1600 a month for a R63.

The R63 AMG might replace the W12 Volkswagen Phaeton as the worst marketed, least successful German luxury automobile. And, much like the Phaeton, I don't see the R63 AMG sticking around for more than a year or so before getting the axe.
By launching both the R-class and the GL-class within a year of one another, MB-USA just cannibalized ML sales -- there are only so many soccer moms to go around.
The R-class is a failure.

i've seen an R63 before, coming out of the dealer's service department. very rare. in fact, the only one i have ever seen yet. i actually like the R's styling alot. looks better than 99% of the minivans out there.
