Looking at a '16 CPO that just got a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2. Any opinions on these tires?

I have Goodyear Eagle F-1s on my '16 S550C4 and they're OK. They handle as well but are a little noisier than the Michelin Pilot Sport+ on my SL500 but that is because they are run-flats. Tread wear on these cars isn't particularly good.

Yes, I've noticed that. Been looking for the right S coupe for some time and see most Carfaxs showing tires being replaced at the 6-7k mile area. Kind of a turn off to me as I hate having tires installed at all let alone a couple oft times a year as the mechanics can do some damage to the wheels.

I can't comment on this, but I do love my: Continental Extreme Contact DWS06. I've had them on the S Coupe and the Panamera on 22" wheels and they handle like a dream and they take rain and even snow like a champ.

I have them on my '16 coupe and I like them. They're stiffer than my usual Michelin Pilots like I have on my SL500 so the handling is good. They're noisier, especially on some surfaces. But the sound insulation in the S550 is so good that the noise is quite a bit reduced with the windows up.

My experience is that the tire “mechanics” at your Mercedes dealer are most motivated to avoid wheel damage.

I bought a '15 S Coupe on May 31 and drove to Gila Bend, Az and back to Ft Worth whereupon when I went to wash the bugs off, I discovered a large bubble on the left front tire. Talking about the same tire you mentioned above,

I attributed it to hitting a chug hole and bought another. Then reviewing these S Forums I noticed a thread on 'bubbles' on tires, which makes me wonder what caused the bubble. The heat near Phoenix was 100*.

I found these 20" wheels with the tires mentioned in your post, to be much quieter than the traded in '14 CL550. I used a decibel meter to determine that. The S Coupe was a good 3-4 db quieter at 80 mph. Something on the order of 63-65 db quiet vs the 67-69 db in the CL. I was/am surprised that run flats could be this quiet.
