Last MY for coupe and cabriolet!
Benzinsider.com claims this MY year (2020) will be the last for production of C217(coupe) and A217(cabriolet).
That may reduce depreciation starting next year and they should become collectibles thereafter.
Does anyone know production numbers as I believe they were relatively low?
Your thoughts.

Collectible status sounds great but I wouldn't count on it. Car manufacturers stop making certain models because they don't sell.

I wouldn't doubt it, the cabriolet versions are holding their value pretty well now. Once these are gone I could see the cabrio at least becoming a collectable at some point.

This article states 2022 will be the last year (assuming MY) which makes more sense to me...production #'s are here as well.

Interesting conflict. However, the consensus is that production of coupe and cabriolet will end. The only argument is the date, 2020 or 2022.
The summation is that if you want a reasonably priced 4 passenger luxury coupe/cabriolet then now is the time to buy.
As to the collectability of each you have to look at what happened to 70's coupe/cabriolet prices when their production ceased.
These cars could turn into an investment as opposed to a depreciating asset.

Well I hope the value comes down no offense to all of the users on here but this is my affordable dream car 2018 S63 coupe. To me its the sexyiest non-supercar on the road. I currently drive a 2015 S550 sedan which is my first Benz I love it and i have had it for almost 3 years but that 2018 S63 coupe is excellence, so I hope the value comes down Ill be getting one as soon as it drops.

Long term, the classic line and relatively rarity as a Mercedes-Benz model (particularly of the 2018+ cars) should make them highly collectible and values will rise. But that is a long way off and lots of depreciation and maintenance costs for us owners to endure until then!

Heisenberg, I concur with your assessments. Although appreciation may be a LONG way forward. Nonetheless car guys usually are always looking for the next collectible and I believe the (c 217) coupe and (A217) cabriolet will at some point begin to appreciate.
High maintenance and repair costs are the price that is expected and must be paid to own these special vehicles.
