Rotating Tires on our Coupes and Cabriolets

I requested my Service Manager to rotate my staggered size tires from right to left and left to right.
He stated "It won't lengthen the wear patterns so they don't rotate staggered size tires".
Is this true? Does anyone rotate their staggered size tires right to left and left to right?
I have Michelin Pilot Sport tires on my coupe and cabriolet.
Your thoughts.
Thanks in advance.
Ron

You've probably checked but my '16 S coupe owner's manual has a lot of info on tires but does not mention their rotation.

It sounds like you got rid of your run flats. If so, how's the difference in ride?

Jud Chapin, Yes I also found zippo tire rotation in the owners manual.
As for the Michelin Pilot Sports they give a fantastic ride. All the hard bumps felt with the run-flats are now gone.
Just a very smooth ride and a lot less road noise.
That was my complaint, among others, was that even the smallest bump was felt as a jarring jolt with the run-flats.
Thanks for your response.
Ron

Aside from MB industry consensus directional staggered tires cannot be rotated, non-directional you can rotate left to right. As far as MB specifically see attachments.

I've always used Michelin's on my other cars and will try the Pilot Sports as you mentioned. Unfortunately, my run flats only have a few k miles on them and hate to dump them at this point.

I see there are several different Michelin Pilot Sports: A/S 3, 4S, and Pilot Super Sport. Which do you have.

Konigstiger, My Michelin's are non-directional. However, the "Service Sheet" you provided states "TIRE ROTATION non-staggered wheel set-up only"
So that would indicate to NOT rotate staggered wheels.
Do you have another source/reference for your opinion?
I am not being argumentative but want something to present to my Service Manager.
Thanks
Ron

Jud Chapin, I have the Michelin Pilot Sport 3. I can't comment on tire wear as I haven't had them that long.
However, my coupe and cab now ride like a Mercedes NOT a Radio Flyer!!!!!!!!!!!
See Ya

Interesting that the 3's have a 45k mile warranty and the other 2 have just 30k and are a $100 or so more per tire. (Costco prices)

My initial post may have been misunderstood, to clarify I corrected wording: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-c...ml#post8051272

Bottom line MB does not require rotation. If non-directional dealer discrepancy as to rotating side to side.

Thanks for the info, Ron. I have Eagle 1 run flats on my 2020 Cabriolet... CAN'T WAIT to wear them out some so I don't feel like I'm pissing money away just because a WANT new Michelin Pilot Super Sports instead!
