Replace Ashtray with Wireless Charging Phone Storage
Hi all,
I just completed the CarPlay upgrade on my 2017 A217 and would like to replace the (useless to me) ashtray with a storage compartment that includes a wireless phone charging capability. I found a video where Chris from CKMCarDesign made one (see video below) and it mentions in the video that he sells finished ones, but I can't find them on his site. I assume they are out-of-stock. I really don't want to make this a DIY project. Anyone know where to buy one complete?

Still waiting on the parts from MB. It had to come from Germany. But here you go...

Sure thing. I actually found the part numbers on someone else's thread and was able to order. I can't imagine your console is any different, but I could be wrong. Happy to post once the parts are received and installed.

Parts not really different
So I received my astray which I thought deletes the lighter portion. Guess what. Oh they deleted the lighter alright but just the metal lighter. The tray still has an outlet plug in it where the lighter would go. So there's not enough space to place a phone it. It's essentially the same ashtray without the physical pull-out lighter. I'm debating using my drimmel to cut out that portion out but that will be a later project. So save your money unless you feel like doing some cutting work.
