Offficial W126 Picture Thread
It's a real 'work in progress' and probably always will be, barely a week goes by without me thinking up something new to add in some small way
Here's what I started with, a nice original W126

...now

What's the picture in the tag at the bottom of your posting? Is the your 300se? Man, I love those wheels and that trim. Where'd you find that base board, or whatever you call it? I'm guessing by STL you're referring to THE STL, so it gives me hope as a MO resident that I might find some awesome stuff for my 500sel locally. I wish, essentially, I could get it to look somewhat like yours. IT appears we have the same color paint(don't let my photo fool you). Unfortunately, mine is a darker brown, or light tan at the bottom. I'd like to change that, and if I could just find trim in the right color, then.... I really don't know much about modding these things yet, as you can probably tell. Just got my first baby last week. Stupid me, I've been driving american cars, but my wife's Land Rover's been getting me itching for euro quality. Here I am now, now canvas to work with, and no clue how... Got any pointers? And, tell me, is there anywhere around MO to find stuff?

These are wheels designed specifically for the W126 by AMG, with a nice, low offset of ET11 and the original AMG logo from when it was not part of Daimler-Chrysler, ie not ///AMG, they were also available for the W124 but in a different offset
Also put on a new rear bumper from a euro gen-2 126 which is deeper than the standard gen-1 euro which I had on, not a great deal different but, it looks better proportioned with it on

where did you get your tail lights?
the AMG's are nice. Good looking car.

Thank you, I think the wheels will make a world of difference.
I've received the wiring looms and exhausts from LA and I'm into a deal with a couple of electronic engineers in Melbourne, [800 km away], who have set up a CAN BUS business. They are going to do the integration of the electronics of the E55 motor/trans with the 560. In other words, give he 560 a CAN BUS. It is getting very complex, so I've decided to get this stuff completely sorted before I go on. If the electronics is a no go, I can back out and sell my parts. The main issues are the inter relationships between all of the E55 systems. I don't want to get into ESP, ABC, Parktronic, AirMatic Suspension or the E55s ABS but the Central gateway will seek an 'ok to go' from these systems before start up. The security imobilising system is another giant PITA. We have to disable the systems that won't be used or set up 'fake' responses.
Anyway we've just started on this last week, so it's a worrying and expensive time.
It's all possible but is it worth it? So far yes. The end result will be a big, very comfortable, high performace limo at much less than I can buy an E55 here.
How is the weather in Sidney? More importantly how is your 55-SEL?
After I sold my 560 SEL I have gone diesel.
Now have a diesel engine 602.911 *2500 cc from w201 automatic gear box 4 speed* Before she have a 4200 cc V8 engine. On trip computer work all ok but the comsumption shows 0.0 litre
. O i forgot.. i`m from Romania.
