Steering Box C&m Hydraulics

Hi
Has anyone bought or had a steering box or any other rebuilt work done by C&M Hydraulics.
They are out of Las Vegas.
Please any comments.

Thanks
Bruce

I was informed by my SA that my steering box was leaking and had to be resealed, I would be interested to know how much work was involved with the R&R of your unit.

Hi
I havn't removed it, as of yet. I am looking for a source still. Mine is starting that wet look, and it is only a matter of time.
I saw this company and they seemed to either rebuild all mercedes models boxes, or have a source for them.

About 500 plus a 450 core charge, and shipping of 50.

Maybe we could do a group buy/rebuild, if you know of others who are in need of a box.

They're supposed to be good. That said, what's leaking? I replaced the seal around the pitman shaft by myself to end a leak on my 560SEL. If the power steering pump is leaking, it almost always is the large (~2") o-ring in the back of the pump housing, another DIY job.

560sl
Smile C & M Hydraulics Steering Box

I got a steering box from them in 2000 for a 560sl and today the only mechanical problem is a small seal leak. From a functional point the box is too tight and steers a little hard. I think the box was about $400 including shipping at that time,,,, Hey 10 years for a reman??
