Do you have any idea how bad that is for your car or do you just fail to give a crap?

Haha nice! What is it, an S500?

BTW, I wouldn't really consider it really bad for your car, only the tires...

I would not call cruising at a constant speed hard driving, flooring it to the point that the car looses traction is. It will most likely not cause some sort of horrible failure in the time he owns the car put it that way.

Of course I " give a crap" about my car. i love and respect w140's more then anyone. I dont undersatnd how anyone can own one of these cars and not try that at least once. i know it is harder on ur car then slowly cruzing around but as long as its not done often i dont see any problems. MB's are quality vihicals that are built to drive hard and not break a sweat doin it

And yes it is a 95 s500

Yea I guess so I was just woundering how often you did do that. I don't even think I could put that much power to the wheels in mine and an early S500 is still around 20K here

Nice now try going sideways at 30mph. Not that I would sudjest such a thing in a heavy car.

Its all in good fun, a little tough on the rear suspension bushings, and diff. Just don't make a habit of it and you won't hurt anything. MB's are built really tough, you actualy have to try to break something.

Not a constant speed...but a constant autobahn speed (120-160mph)

When the rpm is constantly near the redline it is not good for the car, autobahn speed will not cause that to happen with a S500.

OK, at the end of the day it is your car and do with it what you want, I would never do this to my own car even if as some of you suggest it is only bad for the tyres mine run at 400 each. I do feel that this is perhaps not 'bad' for the car but it is hardly good for it. Sorry for the first post which to be honest was a bit harsh and that I am sorry for, at this stage we will have to agree to disagree.

ahhaha thanks, theres always room to improve though
Man its killer on ur tires though, thats why i did it on my old tires, i got my new Dunlop Sport A2's now
I have fooled around (NOT OFTEN) doin similer stuff in the rain, and i belive it has made me a stronger driver ( iv been driving for less then 1 yr) , in Jan i was merging onto a highway and i hit a small patch of black ice, my back end started to swing out and i understood what it felt liek to have the rear of the car have no traction so it did not suprise me and i knew how to counter steer out of it.

For some reason when I picture a W140 I can't picture it doing anything like that! That had to be a 500 or 600, I can't see a 320 doing that.

Evidently, it was not your money used to purchase that car, or you had a good job in school. I dont think you sharpend your driving skills.
