1995 C 36 AMG; 1992 W124 300E (M103 Ex Mosselman TT KIT) was 320hp @10psi now stock :(
this has to be the highest here !!!!
My 1995 S500 has abt 140k miles and drives like new.
My w124 M103 300E 1992, had 240K miles on it, 100K of them under heavy heavy usage with several dyno runs showing almost 210 hp on the flywheel. and final 16k where with twin turbo and 10 psi boost, making close to 320hp but due to sticking to stock CIS tune was far from perfect and broke a ring. Rebuilt the engine using same cranck rods and pistons.
Oh still on the original gearbox.

Mine's a 1997 S500, 203,000 miles. My transmission died unexpectedly about a month ago. I parked it after work, started it the next morning to some awful grinding, rattling, just some awful noises. The dealer told me it would cost over $9,000.00 to fix it. I thought that was the end of the car, but after a bunch of phone calls, I found someone to rebuild my transmission with a 2 year, unlimited mileage warrantee for $3500.00.
So, my car is fixed, still in great shape. I hope to keep it at least another year or two. I drive about 25000 miles per year. Maybe I'll go for 300,000 miles!

OK - I like what I started!
Since starting this post, my 96 S500 has passed the 155,000 mile (250,000 km) mark and I got my high milage badge (and really nice certificate in cloth presentation folder!) and am now up to 164,500 miles.
Since mine was in an accident when I bought it, it has had more repair than most of the posts here - I also notice that the pre 1996 W140's seem to get better longevity results than 1996 forward, when MB changed a LOT under the hood (new transmission, computer controlled everything). The S320's I-6 and 4-speed pre-1996 designed tranny also seem to be the winners, along with the very well maintained S600's.

I bought a 99 S320 in Feb. it now has 130,000 miles. The PO did not change oil like I do every 3000 miles. So been running Rotella diesel oil to clean engine. It works.Next oil change will be Syn. 5-40w diesel rated.I've always run diesel oil in my gassers.
Damn good car fast,I removed the cats, and center mufflers.Mileage is good 28.5 so far mixed driving (when trying).

Rob, since your thread started & my first post I'm up to 190K. We drive it every day but don't use it on road trips any longer. I would if I needed to and have no reason to think it wouldn't do fine. It still is a great car. It needs a coat of clear coat I think to freshin it up. The Arizona sun it baking it's paint. What is the process of getting the milage badge?

Take you car to an MB Dealership for their free inspection/verification. Mine also did the mail in, etc. They say allow 4 weeks, but allow more... but it is worth it! The award looks great!
Wow - well, those electrical problems seem to be a constant, but those earlier SELs were otherwise really well built! Glad to see another 500 on this thread!

S420 97 has 154k mi and still propels the car impressively. Haven't had any problem yet except the tick-tick sound that came out a few months ago. Mechanic recommended replacement of oil feed tubes ($425.00 per bank of cylinders). I wonder if this is a project that can be delayed without dire consequences. Times are tough these days.

Good day Gents,
My little S320 has a 140k miles, but I have the transmission out of it now because I'm doing a full rebuild. I lost reverse two years ago, and drove for a while with no reverse-I got tired of it now, so I'm fixing the 722.508(my self).
Question, for all you "High Miler's" or "High Kilometer's" drivers
How is everyone dealing with cosmetics:
Leather seats? - taking the easy way out?- using seat covers?
Paint?-Filling the chips?
Carpet- Steam cleaning until the fibers disapear?
Great site...

Yea they suck but I'm scheduling an appointment with the dealership to fix all that and get a full tune up on her.

Mava,
My seats look great but they need constant treatment at this age but it's worth it. Plus get tinted windows to reduce the sun on the seats as well.
Thanks for the reply. I believe you are right. Changed oil 10w30 full syn and the noise went away, althought said noise can be heard every now and then but not all the time as before. Mybe next time, I'll use a heavier - weight oil.
i'm glad that helped cause i've found ppl use that rocker knocking as a reason to tear up the engine for a rebuild when there isn't any reason you can't put more oil in and you should be fine.
