Well my parents are giving me their car...
a 1998 Mercedes S430 (might be an S420). The car is an extra car in that they have, it has been replaced by a Lexus. The dealer was giving them crap money for it, and they called from the dealer and said "do you want it?" Correct me if I am wrong but I belive that it is a W140 body style. I already have a W126 (1985 300SD) that ironically was also from my parents that was gave to me (I love my Mom and Dad). The car has 40,000 miles on it, and is in great shape. Is there anything I should watch out for when I get it? I want to get a nice set of fake AMG rims for it, God knows I can not afford the real ones. I will post pics as soon as I get it.

Nice, with only 40,000 miles, you will be set for the next 200,000 miles, that would translate to approx. 15 years of driving (13500 miles/year).
Look for a set of good condition used AMG rims instead of the fake one. You can also get a new set of take off for about $1200-$1500 with tires. (Go direct to the Mercedes dealership and talk to them, they get tons of takeoff that they send out to the retailers)

You did not ask me, but that means people who buy new wheels and give their old ones to the dealer. You can probably get a good price for them.
Also if it is a 1998 S-Class that is assuredly a W140. BTW, I would keep your other car too.

the s420 is perfect. is isnt aa bad a gas guzzler as a s500, or worse, s600, but it isnt whimpy, going uphill like the s320.
i have a s320 and s600. the w140 is an awesome body style..especially the 1997+ ones...just do us a favor....dont put an AMG badge on it.
