98 CL 600 on Ebay

If you're looking for a CL, there is currently one on EBay with no reserve. May be a chance to get one at a reasonable price.

I have no interest in the car or relation to seller, just thougt some of you might be interested.

Car looks pretty clean, I'd guess it breaks $40K.

WMAK8,

You may be closer than me. Only at $22K with 2 days to go.

Really cheap for this car IMO.

zindallas,

eBay is not a good place to sell a high end car with no reserve unless it is a sl55 or s55 or any of the new hard to get cars. The buyer usually ends up with the better deal. But don't forget, lots of bidding happens during the 1st day and the final minutes of the auction. You still have a chance. Cars like this usually go for $40k in SF too. It's a shame to see a $40k + car sell for under $30k.

It went for $31,300. Seems like a pretty incredible deal to me.

What do others think?

Hmmm. Sounds like somethings wrong. A No Reserve CL600 on Ebay. I would be very weary of that car. For only $31000 My first question would be whats wrong with it. Maybe a repairable. But if in good shape its a great deal. Sam

You're right, it does smell a little funny.

I saw a 98 CL 500 go for $40K just a few weeks ago. I also noticed what looks like a lot of stone chips or maybe even paint on the front in the pictures, especially on the closeup of the grill.

So somebody either got a really good deal or a major headache!

Ya, the cost alone for repairs or maintenance on a Cl600 that hasnt been taken care of or has problems could easily make up the difference and then some... hehe. I cant wait to get some more rims for my benzos. Im gonna get some D93s incase i get bored of the LD1s Then i can swap them. You got rims on your CL yet Zin?

I put staggered 18" AMGs with Potenza SO3 rubber on mine. The guy I talked to at TireRack steered me away from 19's saying the ride would be too harsh. If I remember right, yours are 19 or 20s. How do they ride?

Dang is that a nice one... I like that body style. That must be a fast car. That V12 logo looks pretty cool too.

Thanks for the compliments.

I'm really happy with the car. I like how it looks too, and it's nice to have something unique you don't see everyday on the road.

It's pretty decent off the line, but it really shines at high speeds. I have to be careful because cruising at 80 feels like 50 in this solid beast. Top speed so far for me is ~110.

WMAK8,

Incredible car! I can't imagine spending $18K on electronics, especially since I'm 6'8" tall and can barely get in my back seat let alone hang out to watch movies in the headrest TV's!

If the mechanics are solid this is a great car for the $.
