Best way to get rid of a broken down S Class

The time has come to get rid of the best car I have ever had. For the past 11 years I have had this 1995 S420. Great car. But over the past few years she has been mean to me. Now she has a problem that my mechanic cannot figure out. He thinks its the throttle actuator but doesnt know for sure. I just bought a new car so I dont want to mess with it. 192k miles and lots of repairs, window regulators, power steering pump and when it gets to operating temp at 80 C then it has engine probs. What is the best way to get rid of it? I was thinking, a Pick N Pull, or donate it? Not sure about selling it since in CA it will not pass smog since it has its problem. I dont have time to part it out.

Thanks for the ideas

hows the wiring harness? you can make more money selling parts than junking it.Thats if you have the yard to do it in.

Me? its going good haha, still having issues with the car , have no idea i can only drive it the in city, when taking it on a 100 mile trip its great the 50 miles there then the 50miles back it starts shaking and has trouble accelerating, then eventually stalls when coming to a stop light after. Restarting, usually resets it though. Last time this was a issue , it was my engine harness which i could see was messed up. Not to mention I've had the tranny replaced 3 times.
sorry I do not mean to take over the thread.

My 99 ML430 did the same thing but temp didn't matter. When ever I reved engine over 4,000 rpms, the while car shook! Problem, 2 blown cats and 2 clogged cats, put new exhaust from manifold back, 4 new cats and a borla muffler and she was screaming just like she did when I bought her.
Also,..I live in cali, how's the condition of ur interior and body?? I have a good 95 4.2 engine "119.975" and matching tranny. if car is in good condition I'd b interested. Let me know.

A couple of thoughts come to mind. There are some religious organizations that accept cars that are not up to par. They will even come and tow your car for you at no charge. There are folks like Cars for Causes, Father Joe's (Catholic Charity), and many of the disease societies also have such programs.

Be sure they are a tax exempt organization authorized to give you a receipt for use as a tax deduction. Ask for a copy of the letter from the IRS. No copy - no car!
