Well do they? Just wondering because this is a feature I would really like.

Thanks

Which models do have the reclining seats? Damn, my 04 X5 even has reclining rear seats. Do the 02s or 03s?

yeah, i don't think W220 came with reclining rear seats. instead you choose how far the lower portion of the seat moves outward or inward, adjusting your back angle by that way.

of course, the X5 has nothing behind the seats, so it's easier to do recline :p

the W140 DID have rear seat recline, but conversely you can't select whether to move the lower portion.

of course, you could buy a Maybach and get seats adjustable in every single way i'm not sure about the W221.

yup, but only for moving the lower portion of seats as some have already stated.

a bit disappointing considering you're paying ~100k for a luxury sedan.

i'm not sure if we're all on the same wavelength here.

basically, all W220 S can move their rear seat's lower portion (i.e. the part your butt is at) forward or backward, but none can move the seatback.

and yes it is electric - as usual in Merc, you use the very simple "pictogram" buttons.

But the rear seatback will tilt as well(when you move the lower part of the seat forward), correct?

Where is the button to move the seat?

the way you move the seat is exactly as you would when sitting in the front..... and the rear seatback will tilt with the lower part of the seat

That's awesome. Exactly what I'm looking for. At what angle can the rear seatback tilt?

I believe Zim the owner of ToplineAutomobile has reclining rear seats. I think it is called the 7-way or something because you can only seat two passengers in the back!

yep my 2000 s500 has reclining rear seats and they have the heat/a/c seats too. Mercedes calls them "power rear seats". its rare on anything but the s600

The 4 seat option package for the S class has the reclining seats. It also came with heated and ventilated options along with the pulse feature. I believe the seat where the 5th passenger would sit is replaced with a wooden console. I ended up passing on that package and just went for the rear seat package where the seat in the rear can be moved foward and back along with them being heated and ventilated. The 4 seat package i believe was one of the most expensive options for the W220.
