You might check with Jerry at Formymercedes.com and see what he gets for the AMG model. He special orders and takes about 4-6 weeks.

I paid $750 + $105 for the install. My SA got me in and out in 45 minutes!!!! That is the same price I paid for my E320 wheel and install.

I would like to have the Wood shifter but since it is Keyless Go it has to be ordered with the car. It cannot be added as an accessory by the dealer so I understand. Here is the wording from the MBUSA site:

* The Wood and Leather Keyless Go Shift Knob is only available when ordered with the Keyless Go option.

I take this to mean you cannot add it later? I will have to double check.

Here is the best shot I have of the top of the shifter. The chrome piece on top is the Keyless Go button. The standard wood shifter cannot be used. Whether the OEM can be ordered by the dealer and installed I will find out tomorrow.

Looking good. How does the wood match your existing interior wood trim? I think I was one of the luckier ones when the dealer added the wood wheel to ’03 E deal because it matched without noticeable difference. The CLS was factory so needless to say it matches perfectly.

Thanks. The match is perfect...checked it in the sunlight and garage light. My E320 was also well matched even though it was Black Maple.

Looking good, and I still envy your interior . Did you buy it from the dealership?

Yes...from the dealer's parts guy. Always gives me a fair deal.

Hi Ramp...just called the dealer and they do install them with KG. That note on the MBUSA pertains to the fact they cannot add KG after, not the shifter. If you have keyless go they can make the switch. She is checking the price now.

Wood shifter

Well I ordered the wood shifter lever for the Keyless Go model late yesterday. Should have it installed by Monday maybe. The MBUSA Parts price was $424 but my favorite parts man Sonny told me he would sell it for the price on the BYO site...$304. Should complete the effect for sure

Jack,

Just talked w/ my MB Parts Dept. and they quoted me somewhat higher prices than you mentioned. I would like to double-check to make sure I am ordering the same thing that you did. Would you be so kind as to see if the part #s match. Here's what he told me:

Wheel: 6-6-26-8390 $889.69

Knob: 6-6-81-8517 $302.87

They are burled walnut and ash leather. The shift knob is NOT Keyless Go. I doubt the prices would have changed that much since you just got yours.

Thanks in advance,

Gene
