We've joined the club, 2006 2500
I've been a member on these forums for a while but have never posted a new thread. We have had MB's in the past; a 1984 300SD, which has 329K miles and has been sent back to my parents and 1996 C220 (the C class on Nov. 24 went to Mercedes heaven thanks to a Kia driver running a red light, what a way to celebrate Thanksgiving)
With the dealer incentives on the last of the W220's it became a no brainer to move up to a S500. What a magnificent car.
Noticed one thing on the drive home. (which was approx. 130 miles) I stopped to top off the tank, pulled away and felt the engine/transmission surge. I pulled over and found that the car had slipped out of gear. I turned it off and restarted and it ran and is running fine. Any other experiences like this or is this a noob goof. I did buy the 3 additional years or 100K extended warranty. By the way, Pewter with Charcoal interior, comfort package, parktronic, keyless go & AMG sport package.

Is the "2500" the dealer incentive?
Are you sure you didn't bump the gear-shift w/ your knee? You'll be super-sensitive to everything until you drive it for awhile and get used to it. But don't hesitate to call your dealer if it "slips out of gear" again.
BTW: Don't top off your tank.
If you have any problems with the transmission (see my 7G Thunk thread) let your SA know about it. I did not have any "out of gear" events, just the hard downshift from 2nd to 1st. Runs great after service.
