2002 500 s-class or 2007 bmw 5 series

2002 500 s-class or 2007 bmw 5 series
Should i keep my 2002 s-class with 60k miles on it(got it used 6 months ago) or buy a new 530 5 series with most of the options? i do like the queit ride but it does get boring. I have narrowed it down to this decision. Any thoughts on people who have had both? i do have a bad back and drive about 25k miles highway driving a year. i am 33 years old.

the s class is designed for more comfort rather then performance. the bmw 5 series is a little more sporty and gonna be more of a stiffer ride then the s500(the s500 is still faster then the 5 series though). this s500 rides on an aromatic suspension so basically ur riding on air. if i were u i would buy the s500 just because it would be better for your back. and as for the options on the bmw u said u could get it fully optioned....most of those options that are on the bmw are gonnna be standered on the s class..

Personally I'd always pick the newer car over the older one especially if it's a big generation change like what you have.
However, since you already have the car and aren't picking between two different cars to purchse -- I say don't blow the extra money. Keep it and save the cash for something bigger and better

Why buy a pig ugly 5 series when you have one of the best looking cars in the world. What Car, Autocar and AutoExpress all made the 220 series S class the best saloon car in the world. You have more performance, more comfort, more 'class', more everything with what you have. Like the rest of us you just get that twitch that makes you feel like a change. Fight it. Even BMW descibe their styling as 'challenging' and 'controversial' Others say it fell from the ugly tree, hitting all the branches on the way down. The only uglier car I can think of is the BMW six series which looks like one of those revolting creatures dragged up from the seabed in the deepest stretches of the ocean.

The s class is way better. Instead of a 5 series you could trade in the 02' s 500 for a newer s class. The S class is a better performer and more comfortable.

Come on, this is a Benz forum... What do you expect to hear?
I sure would miss the spaciousness and the V8 powerplant of my S. And, good luck with BMW's iDrive--that system simply stinks.
I once tried to deviate from Benz, bought an X5 4.4i loaded. After 6 months got rid of it. Nice vehicle, but there is nothing like a Benz.

After reading a couple of the prior postsI feel like a peasant in this group.
As I read em ,one says "a 2002 S is not worth selling /trading",err,since when is $30,000.00 pocket change?
The other one says "stop being a whiner and go buy a Porche 911 Turbo".
Damn I need to start making some money.
