even if the s600 was a better car....dont you think the ls430 is a great car accord...i mean if it is as quiet as a s600, dont you think lexus would do wonders if they made a 130K car....that would probably put the maybach to shame

Lexus can make a 500k car for all I care, but it will not put the Maybach to shame for one reason. It has no heritage, there is no prestigious history behind it. Just because it may have a few more TV's than a Maybach does not mean it is a better car.

Also, if Lexus put a 5.9L Twin Turbo V12 engine that put out 550hp in a LS, the car sure as hell would cost just as much as an S600 with a base price around 115k.

You and "inelectual people"(????) I dont see how these two go together.

im comparing a ls430 to a s600.....the first part is price, and of course the ls is cheaper...second...the ls430 has a better warantee. In powertrain, and in rust miles...lol, and pounds of smog that comes out after 15000 miles is 7.9-11.8 for the ls and for the s it is 20.8-25.0 very very nice...lol, and the s600 comes with only a steel wheel, not a extra alloy...and rear roller blinds are standard on the ls, not even available on the s600. and all the mirrors are electrochromatic or whatever, only one in the s600. And for the ls, both side mirrors fold down when in reverse. i am not sure where the cruise control is on the s600, but on the ls..it is on the steering wheel...where it should be..lol, the s600 doesnt even have homelink......god man...my cheap as 30 grand camry even has that, and that was standard. the ls has a charcoal filter. the ls has a compass...but i like one thing on the s600...a powerized rear view mirror..thats prety cool...there are child locks on the ls..there is a ingine immbolizer on the ls..very good feature, and headlight that turn on auto..cd in dash..rds system...even my camry has that standard...11 speakers, and a dvd nav..oo, the s-class's cg is .27, still far away from .25....and of course a bigger inside, and 5!!!! more cubic feet trunk..and you think your s600's trunk is big...well guess what....my ****ty 30 grand camry is 1.3 cubic feet more....more is better right, just like valves, and hp

lol, accord, it would be way way way less than a s600...and would put the s600 to shame and the car would be under 100 grand....history has to do a lot with cars, but history doesnt make a car go faster, or make it have extra valves man, it is what they have in stock right now...i mean look at jag...your saying they are good too...lol

Reasons why the S600 is more fun, and exciting than an LS430:

1) The LS430 does not have a Touch Shift style capabilities. It is a LOT of fun to have the option to shift the car yourself when you're driving hard, or even just accelerating fast onto a highway. The LS430 is just a normal Automatic and cannot do this.

2) The S600 is a 12 cylinder vehicle with 362hp and 391 ft. lb. torque, whilst the LS430 only has an 8 cylinder with much less torque and horsepower. Not to mention the 2003 S600 will have the new Twin-Turbo V12 engine with over 500hp .

3) The S600 is reported as 0-60 in 5.8 seconds whilst Lexus reports the LS430 of a 0-60 time at 6.3 seconds. 70% of one second may not seem like a lot, but in 0-60 times it is.

4) The S600 is a lot more sporty than the LS430, especially with the Sport Package.

5) A Tire Pressure monitoring system is available on the S600, nothing of this nature is offered on the LS430.

6) The sport package on the LS430 consists of nothing more than an ugly set of 16 inch wheels. 16 inch wheels in a SPORT package is absurd.

Bmms8, did you know the LS430 is 2 inches taller than a S600? Did I mention the wheelbase on the S600 is much wider aswell as the the S600 being wider than an LS430. Wider is better, just like Pontiac says, lol .

Also, the S600 has more rear leg room than the LS430.

The S600 has nearly every single thing standard whilst the LS430 has nearly everything as an option or not even available at all.

1) Most people who are considering spending $130k+ on a vehicle would not care about price. Why settle for a underpowered V8 lexus when you can have a beastly V12 Mercedes-Benz just because it is cheaper? When your talking cars in excess of 100k, price usually does not factor in the decision of which car to buy. Anyone, except geriatrics would take a 550hp Twin Turbo V12 S600 over an underpowered 290hp V8.

2) Like I said earlier in this thread, I could care less about warantee because we never keep a car for more than a year or two, and the warantee on the S600 has us completely covered for four years.

3) Nobody cares about how much smog is emitted unless you're a member of Green Peace. If you're that concerned about it, buy one of those Hybrid Electric vehicles.

4) The S600 has alloy wheels, and are much better than the standard wheels on the LS430. The crappy sport package on the LS features 16" wheels whilst the sport package on the S600 features 18" AMG staggard wheels.

5) The S600 has "rear roller blinds" available for 100 bucks as a dealer installed option.

6) What the is Homelink?

7) The rest of your post is just listing features of the LS430 which are already on the S600.

8) Who the hell cares about trunk size unless you're in the mob? I can fit three staff bags in the trunk of the S600, that is MORE than sufficient. The S600 has more rear leg room, which is more important

9) Don't try and convince me that something is better when you have zero experience with both vehicles. Just because you own a Camry, does not make you an expert on an LS430.

the sport package on the ls has 17's....and for less than 10 grand, you can get davin 20's, lol, that would make your s600 into deep shame....and homelink is a 3-button device to open your garage, or lights or whatever, w/o using a remote....and the rear blinds arent 100 dollars, they are 310 for 2002....i am just saying a bigger trunk is a bigger trunk....and if you were to buy a 120 k car, why would you care if it ran on all 12 valves, i would rather want that then only going on 6 valves, wheres the fun at then...

isnt homelink the garage door opener?

my CL600 has the garage door opener buttons on the bottom the rearview mirror. dont know about the S class though.

The LS430 is a really nice car and i have a lot of respect for it. it has lots of little gizmos and gadgets that rival many higher end luxury cars. Lexus makes great, reliable cars and the LS430 puts the icing on the lexus model-line cake.

Even though i think the lexus is a great car, it is missing something. Its like a happy meal without the chicken nuggets. And that something happens to be the "look" you will give an S Class when it drives by on the other side of the road. MB cars stand out and show excitement even when they are parked on the side of the road.

My neighbor has an LS430 and it is such a bore to watch backing out of the driveway and leaving. It doesnt have the stance and agile look of the S class or of any MB for that matter. the LS430 is just such a BORING car. sorry but its true. its a great car and everything and i would be extremely satisfied if i had it, but it lacks the energetic look MB cars are known for.

I did a "Competitive Comparison" on AIC and it said that the sport package comes with 16" wheels. I wouldn't want Davin's because I am not an eight foot tall NBA star, nor am I a rapper, lol .

The rear sunshades are $53 per window, which is $106 dollars, not $310.

It runs on 12 cylinders when YOU want it to run on 12 cylinders. When it's late at night and you are driving home, you most likely will not want to drive the car hard and will just want a relaxing drive. The car is very versatile.

there just gonna come back and tell you its pricey (in other words they cannot afford it)

but when your looking for a car that expensive price is in no way a concern, when somebody buys a bentley price is not a concern, when someone buys a lamborghini price is not a ****in concern

and lets not even bring up the new bmw 7 series in this discussion. that car has so many little toys, is VERY luxurious, and the engine can outperform any other engine in its class. the only downside is the exterior styling.

with a base price of 67,000... this is a true bang for the buck car.
