FS 19" wheels and tires (symbolic sl-1)

I was waiting for a guy who wanted to trade the orig. set for these but he called it off so, available again for $1500

I have a set of symbolic sl1 chrome available for sale. Wheels come with 245/40zr19 front and 275/35zr19 rear. Tires are Dunlop sp sport 9000 with 85% tread left.

Hi,

Have you already got the 20s on your S ??

What tyres are you planning or using on the front and the rear and what are the sizes of those 20s. I have 8,5 on the front and 9,5 on the rear but I just don't know what tyre to use.

please comment on this, thanks

yeah, the curb rash on this one is repairable for sure. I already ask the wheel shop overhere.

Put the orig. back on for now. Still waiting for 20" on back order. For my car, they said I can go with 8.5 in front and 9.5 or even 10 in rear.

Can you maybe fill me in about rear tyre size because 275 is said to be too large to work without some light modification to the wheelarches and 245 is deemed too small to carry the weight. Maybe 255s??

@ Montini
1) It much depends on the offset (ET) of the rims, if you need the wheelarches to be worked on. I had tried to widen the rear axle by 20 mm each side and I was turned down by the German TÜV. I however had the MB rims 18" x 8" ET 44mm, with 245/45/18 tires. I had to reduce the spacers to 15mm and then it was ok w/o working on the fendors.
The major issue is that the test to find out whether or not the tires scratch along the wheelarches . The TÜV drive one rear wheel on a 15-20cm (6"-8") ramp, and loads the trunck with 2 persons to see how far the car is lowering under that load condition. If your track is to wide the tire rub along the plastic of the rear fendor, since the wheels tend to move backwards (due to the suspension geometry) Normally you would expect the tires to rub on the top of the wheelarches, but they don't. If you want to go with larger tire and rim sizes you can calculate from there, how far you can go w/o metal and plastic work. My guess would be with 9.5"/19" ET 44 or larger and 275 tires it would just work out.

2) The tire size (width) has not exactly much to do with the load they can handle. Therefore the tire have the so called load factor. This is a 2 digit number at the end of the tire denomination before the max. speed index. For example 96W or so.
