On my way to the car outside, and a guy says, "excuse me, im really sorry, but some car came flying into the parking lot and I had to swerve to avoid hitting him, and in that process i side swiped your front bumper with my rear tire."

I went to look at the front, and there are big black marks on the passenger side of the front bumper, and then the parktronic part is popped out and hanging

The guy was really nice and he gave me his insurance information and his home number. He was driving a new F150.

If only i had parked back about 2 more inches, he probably would have missed me!

Sorry to hear man, but it could have been way worse. At least he wasn't a hit and run and he waited around.

sorry bout your car. i know how u feel. i was parked in front of a friends house with my W220 a couple years back - and someone backed into me so hard to crack my bumper and just left. he obviously knew he had hit me - u cant miss the sound of a cracked bumper.....

its alright man things happen. at least the guy that hit u stayed and waited unlike for me the ******* that hit me left me with 5k damage.

i got a call today from his insurance adjuster. He told them everything and he was 100% honest You guys are right, i was thankful that he stayed around and told me what happened.

you're lucky, some f##ker hit my S2000 and destroyed the rear bumper in front of Borders. paying out of pocket..

yeah but a honda s2000 is no where near expensive as the s500 even in repairs with a s class your paying much deeper

well, the adjuster said i will need a new passenger side front parktronic sensors and bumper thing...but not a whole new bumper. i hope she is right... will find out once the body shop gets the parts ordered in

If your bumper got hit that hard you really do need a new bumper. They are made out of a plastic/cardboard-type product that is designed to "explode" to some extent upon impact so as to absorb more of the impact. And from all I hear any abrupt hit will require replacement. Even though the interior damage to the bumper doesn't show on the outside, the absorption material is useless after damage--which means that if you should get into another front-end collision you or your passenger could be seriously injured because of the defective bumper. I would get a second opinion on that adjuster's decision.
