differences bet. 03 & 04 S-class?
i hear 03s are much better than previous year W220s, but i've also heard that 04s got even more improvements? what exactly were upgraded in 04, and do u all recommend the 04 over the 03? i also heard that from 2004 on, not much got changed til 06. thx for the help

i read that somewhere too. did not know about that. i beleive that 2004 got the dvd nav as well. i know that on the 04 there are buttons along side the comand screen to select certain menues unlike the 03.

I can confirm 7 speed transmission and DVD navigation. There was also a change in the phone/voice actuation MOST system. The Tele Aid system up graded in 2005 to digital from analog (earlier models can be upgraded). Other than that, I don't know of any other refinements. BTW...2004 is the last year for free maintenance for 4 years or 50,000 miles.

thanks guys. does the dvd nav also include widescreen NAV/command? did the interior materials get an upgrade ??

According to the reports I read in preparing my website, the following features were added (in addition to those above):
MP3 playback capability in the CD player
2 extra speakers in sound system for a total of 12 (which I had trouble verifying, thoughts?)
tire pressure monitor made standard, instead of optional
In options, satellite radio became available as a DIO (the prewiring was a factory option). Finally: "S430 and S500 models could now have rear heated, cooled, and massaging rear seats bundled with rear power reclining seatbacks and rear dual-zone climate control." That's the Rear Seating Package ($2800 in '04).
