i think people who live outside the u.s should not order the key because of the different freqency used and it also loooks like everyone who orderd a key not a for a benz in the u.s they all have problems. i might be wrong there might be people overseas that have ordered the key but have no problem..

I doubt you'll be able to reprogram the key. How do you intend to do that? Once smart keys have been programed to your vin, they cannot be reprogramed and that's why you see a lot of MB keys on ebay. Maybe I'm wrong.

The point is to order the correct key, and not just taking a number which somebody posted in the internet because it has worked with his car

Mine came out to 128.00, I didn't see where you upgrade shipping. Whatever though, and ofcourse when I finally get around to doing so the price goes up.

Smile Received mine today.

I finally received my key today after a month of waiting. It took a month because I had it shipped to a friend of mine in the US,who shipped it to me to Saudi Arabia and the shipping company had it by accident shipped to Cairo....

Anyway long story short the key only start the car,but it does not matter I am happy because it was a new experience and I got it at a really cheap price (50$ plus 30$ one day shipping).

Thank you benznodubz

I ordered my key 2 days ago, I needed one badly and the stealorship wanted $235. I wish I could have gotten it for 61 bucks but oh well, I still saved $90 bucks with 2 days shipping. In California that can give me almost 2 full tanks of gas

good for you. i know some will moan about losing out on the $60 price, but
geez, had we not known about that killer price and just found out about the
$120, we still would be quite giddy. some folks have reported almost $300
price quotes from their dealer. that's just not right....almost criminal

Just ordered mine today for $ 118 plus $ 10 shipping for a total of $ 128 or about half price of the $ 250 my Local MBZ Dealer charges here...So I think eventhough I didn't get the $ 60 price at $ 128 it is still a bargain because about 2 years ago I paid $ 280 for a regular smart key for my E55...

To all of you that got one of these beautiful new smart keys Enjoy and cheers!

Unhappy

From what the MBZ Dealers are telling me, because of the Euro going up in order for them to not loose money on part sales they had to raise the prices of most of the parts because they have to buy it from Germany which is in Europe...

Ordered my keys today....Registration???

I ordered my MBZ key today. I put in my VIN number but there was no place where they asked for me to fax my registration or title. Did anyone send that? How or when do they ask for that?
Thanks benznodubz for your excellent finding of this great product enhancement!

I scanned and e-mailed a copy of my Driver's license and registration to Jamie as soon as I received the confirmation of order e-mail. Jamie quickly replied to confirm receipt. If you need to fax it to Jamie below is their contact information with the fax number and e-mail address:

OEM Parts Direct
Phone:1-866-293-1864 Fax:540-777-3034
E-Mail: jamie.pickard@hammersley.com

Here is the problem with just simply inputting your VIN number, if anyone can get a hold of your VIN number and order a key for your car then Insurance Company will be forced to go out of business because hundreds of thousands of Mercedes will be stolen everyday...Therefore, that is the reason why you have to proof that you own the Mercedes by sending them a copy of your Driver's license and registration or Title.

Good luck!

I got my key, very cool. Works perfect...

BUT

the little switch to get out the actually little valet key is missing. which kinda blows, but I don't even want to try and deal with that company. The key still looks amazing, chicks can't believe it's a CAR KEY. hahahaha

I faxed him the DL & registration. Hopefully that will speed things up since I asked for 2nd day delivery. I appreciate the advice.

just ask someone who's recvd one by posting a WANTED on the various CHROME KEY threads. chances are, they recvd 4 and only using one...and can send you
one for next to nothing. (i cant as mine came with it installed and no spares)
