The Best of Mercedes & AMG
but now it is available at all dealerships for all models and years that use the smart key
the plastic key was replaced by the new style key, therefore when you order a new key you will get the new key
Does anyone know if the key frequency in canada is the same as in the US??
That would be of great help if anyone could tell me this because i would really like to buy one of these keys but if the rf does not work then there is no point.
Thanks!
ps. Thanks to the boys in the C Class Forum for bringin this awesome upgrade to my attention.
Go to http://oempartsdirect.com/
Then go to: ( 2 ) Search by factory part number and in drop down box where it says (select make) put Mercedes.
Then cut n paste these part numbers
2117663606 ---- for the KEY STANDARD add to cart
Then cut n paste
2037665006 ---- for the BLADE SMART add to cart
You will obviously need to enter your VIN # in this process so have it handy.
Enjoy

The dealers charge over $200 but is that for a single key or a whole set?
Any feedback will be highly appreciated...
anywayz!...been trying my damnest 2 find a repl key 'cause the "the MAN" sayz itll cost me 200 key/50 program, thanx soo much 4 being my generous friendly service advisor!!!
bought some of the stupid keyz on ebay...WRONG...these cant be reprogrammed he sayz!!! for some reason, i still believe it may be, cause i read a thread where this chica took a couple in off ebay and had it done @ her local dealership...imagine that...what reason would she have 2 lie?...well, i checked the info @ oem and the price is now up 2 140, just 4 the key itself...sucks 2 be the last fool in town!!!

@ least u guys actually roll w/ a thread and communicate...i tried 2 roll some info and input w/ "the C class boyz" and couldn't get a whole lot outta them...hell, i even gave answerz 2 three guyz problemz they were havin' just 'cause i was bored waitin' 4 a response!...those guys never even got a strait answer from anyone...almost like everyone there is just daydreamin'!!! lol

anywayz, thanx 4 the good info (E 4 effort!) and i hope 2 break down & buy the new key (only got 1 key, god only knowz what would happen if it died tomarrow!!!

but the key is so nice love it. well actually it was an overnight when they got the key the next day but he asked me to come the following day because hes schedule is packed
!! so i ordered from oempartsdirect.com and it will be here monday....
After showering, I started putting clean clothes together. OMG, where's the key to my S500?
Yes, you know already - in the pocket of the jeans I was washing. At least, that's where it started. It was out among the load. In the water. Glad I had this string bookmarked - maybe this was the excuse I needed.
Anyway, expecting the worst, I dried the key's exterior - and tried it. It worked!! At least, to lock the doors. But a moment later, it wouldn't unlock the doors or open the trunk. I let it dry on a key hanger (red button down) until the Trick-Or-Treaters were done - about 3 hours - and tried again. It works! Everything! Starts the car, operates locks - and now, it's clean and smells fresh, too!
Well, OK - it's not a procedure I'd recommend to anyone. And yes, my washer is a front loader with minimal water usage, so the key wasn't under water all the time (it certainly was when I fished it out, though).
Now I'm looking for another excuse to buy that snazzy new key.
