117K. Good price, comparable with the new S55 im guessing? Id rather have the 600 for V12 exclusivity.

i'd go for the S55, you get the AMG suspension and breaking and a completely hand built engine. You also get AMG wow styling, though i haven't seen this for the S class.

As far as I know, the suspension on the S55 and S600 are exactly the same. They both come with the active body control as standard. Also, unless they changed the 2003 S55 brakes, the brakes on the 200 01-2002 S55 and S600 are also the same.
The AMG body kit is also available on the S600, but it is an option, where on the S55 it's standard.

The 2003 S55 has a different suspension set-up than the S600 and is also equipped with the brakes from the SL55.

S600 besides being more luxurious ,has higher torque per tonne,so it should be quicker than S55.

The S55 does have slightly different suspension set up and larger brakes than the S600, but the real test for these cars is if you ever go to get rid of the car. The 55 will bring a better trade value or private party price than the S600. That reason alone would make me choose the AMG over the V12. Now, with the bi-turbo on the V-12 the story may change, I'm basing my pick on the current engine choices.

How would the suspension be different?

both S600 and the S55 are using Active Body Control.

And I have never read anything suggesting that the ABC for the S/CL55 was tuned differently from the "normal" ABC.

The AMG w208 and w210 55's actually had a different suspension; maybe that's where the confusion is from.

The base price of the '03 S600 is going to be a hell of a lot more than $117k.

The article is filled with false information, especially the statistics at the bottom. The S600 has a 5.9L engine, not a 5.5L engine. Also, it has more than 493hp. They just took the statistics from the S55 and put it under the S600.

The curb weight that they have is absolutely absurd. They said the curb weight of the S600 is 5700 pounds! We're talking about the S600 here, not the Maybach!

Jl88 and Accord,

In my brochure it says, translated from german, "AMG sports suspension with ABC as standard" so I guess it has a different set-up than the S600.

The new S600 doens´t have a 5,9 litre engine. It has a 5,5 litre or exactly, or exactly 5513 cm3.
