Speed Limiter
Is it possible to take of the speed limiter in an 06 s500? If it is, where can I have it done? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks!

somethign doesnt make sense with slr n8.. i dont think a 2006 s500 has more hp then a 2000. after all its the same engine as a 2000 s500..the only upgrade is the transmission that might help hp.. somethings not right.. evn with the modification u say it has..idk i question it..."Blk/Blk, Nappa Lether, AMG Rims, AMG Bumper, AMG Front air dam, Tuned up engine, sohc, liquid to air intercooler, MB Turbo Charger, all mb,382 hp, 0-60 in 4.6 sec., Heated & Ventilated seats, Bose surround sound, Comfort Pkg, Massage feature, Keyless Go. " i didnt know mb made a turbo charger for an s500 but nooo wayyy can it give u that it be alot more.. since renntechs mods are like 1200$ for ecu upgrade and 16k for supercharger... somethin is not right or please correct me if im wrong.

The dealership I bought it from had this car fixed up as a show car. Later on the dealership used the car as a demo car because many wanted to test drive the car. they did this to show off the s500's power. It was stopped being used as a demo later on. they wanted arouse the people who were looking forward to test drive the car. They put 15 grand worth of extra stuff in this car. It was expensive, but after the s550 came out they did the same stuff to it. The price of this car was marked down significantly due to the new models coming out, and the fact that the car was a demo. Hey, that's what the dealer ship explained. I asked them why this car was different. This what they told me. The 0-60 is around 4.6. I timed it with a watch.
can i see a pic,or does it look like a normal S500?

Damn this limiter. 131 was the best I've ever done. Give me that turbo, or is it twin turbo????

Oddly, that 4.6 is exactly the 0-60 time for an '05 S55 or S600, which have 493 HP. You'll excuse the skepticism, but your claiming of that time and 382 HP don't seem to gibe. And your claim of the exact HP of the totally different S550 engine is another coincidence. And your claim that it's "all MB" and turbocharged is a tad suspicious since MB has never turbocharged a gasoline V-8.
You might want to pop the hood and see just what the dealer did do. And have the watch checked.

mercedes would never never never never turbocharge any model other then amg's or v12s..dealerships could get in trouble for doing that...
i think your stealership lied to you if they told you that... but find out exactly what they did... if its possible ill do it mine...

When it's warmed up pretty good I've been able to get it to pull harder than that. I guess I've just always been paranoid with these ECU upgrades. I have to snap out of it.

Ken...when I was in High School every body wanted a GTO, 442, SS 396/454, etc. I remember all of the road tests on those muscle cars from the 60's did real well to get near the mid sixes 0-60. Our cars do it in 6 flat on a bad day and in the high fives on a good day. I still think anything under 6.5~7 seconds is damn fast, especially for a 4 dr sedan!! But then again...I'm old school.Enjoyed the video.

u dont have to go to rennteck ther are other companies that are cheaper and give u more bang for your buck..there sponseres for the forum check them out.. the best deal is from Nick@JleviSW its 27hp and 30ilbs toque increase and thats on 93 octane and only for $600... im just savin up for right now..im gonna do it in like mnth

Looks like the S500s are way quicker than the S430.
Edit: I'm watching that video over and over, is that unedited? Unless our speedometers are way off, you got to 60 mph in under 5 seconds. Damn!
