(Airmatic) Relay price increase
In fact all of the above said is true about Mercedes price increase. Check out many other dealers for Part # 0025421319 or 002542131926 and you will no longer find any for $16.50.

We should all train ourselves as to the location of the F32 40 amp fuse and the Air-Matic relay. If you ever hear the pump running without the engine running, immediately remove the fuse and replace the relay. Once you replace the relay, schedule an appointment with your dealer and your damages will probably be minimal. If you ignore this you will: 1. Blow the 40 amp fuse. 2. Get the "airmatic drive to shop" warning. and 3.Eventually loose your residual air pressure in the system allowing the suspension to eventually collapse.
Buy a spare relay and educate yourself as how to replace it.

1. Remove the F32 40 amp fuse.
2. Replace the relay with the new relay.
3. Reinstall the old F32 40 amp fuse.
4. Drive directly to your dealer.
Is this correct?
Is this assuming that the issue is a bad realy?

The other thing that can happen is that the relay will stick in the off position and you will have no power to the pump. Replacement of the relay will solve tis problem as well.
I found the same type of relay is sold to Bosch for €2.89 by its manufacturer. That would be somewhere around $3.75 I guess.
I talked to somebody working at that manufacturer and he looked it up in their ERP-system for me, that is how I got the information.
The total cost for this supplier is even less than $1,-
Unfortunately this person works not in sales and does not have the authority to send me free samples.

But then again we live in a world were we are free in the choice to buy or not.
Anyone who is interested in this relay should try to get a catalog on relays (maybe internet/pdf) and look up the MB partnumber and check for alternatives
