2003 S500 - Toyota Corolla (in the rain)
Angry Chrome Exhaust Tips
Does anyone know where I can find chrome exhaust tips for a 2003 S500 that doesn't look like they are cut off when viewing from the side of the vehicle? I see several exhaust tips but they all look as if someone cut them off and they don't belong on the car.

It's not so much the cutoff but more so the fact that the fake exhaust tips "hang" under the bumper instead of being integrated... it breaks the flow of the car and that's why it looks stupid.

You can replace your mufflers or cut off your tips, cut arcs in your bumper and integrate the CL tips.

If you want quality, you're gonna have to go the extra step. Otherwise, the ebay tips will have to do.

The look like junk though... Even those $300 ones look cheap.

I love seeing "S55 AMG" with the fake quad exhaust tips... I laff.

How did you do that? My car came with the tips that look stupid? Did you pay someone to do that or did you do that your self ?

They were custom installed and welded by a friend of mine in Hollywood, CA, I had it done when I bought the car in 2002.

Is it true that there are some exhaust cutout templates for the rear bumper? I believe benzondubs was looking for some a while back. Does anyone know if they are out there?

It was not me and I think my guy just "eyed and measured mine". I never heard of the template deal though I do not doubt its existence.

There actually IS a template, but it is for the AMG fitment. I found it when I was looking to install an AMG rear apron on my car so that my pipes wpuld work. Aborted the idea when I found out that the unpainted apron was $1300.. Anyayz the Kit had a part munber for a template for an "uncut" apron. My dealer was unable to make any sense out of the part number.

So.... I did what your guy did. Got out the ruler, and Eyeballed my cut-outs...

With the sport pkg you shouldn't have to cut the bumper to install AMG exhaust...The AMG cars come with the same rear bumper that you have. You can come straight out with out modifying the rear bumper.
