Replacing Heater/Ventilation Dust Filter
  1. Glove Compartment
  2. Locking Slide
  3. Cap
  4. A/C Housing
  5. Dust Filter
  1. Remove glove compartment (1)
  2. Unlock locking slide (2) upwards and remove cover (3) from A/C housing (4) in the direction of the arrow3. Pull both dust filters (5) out of the A/C housing (4)
  3. Pull both dust filters (5) out of the A/C housing (4)
  4. Install in the reverse order
NOTE: Dust filters (5) must not be cleaned but housing (4) should always be replaced. In order to prevent contamination of the vehicle interior, hold dust filters (5) horizontal when removing.

More instructions to remove the glove box please (S class)? there are several black plastic covers in there and I am not sure which ones to pry off. Any special tools so I will not break them? Thanks.

Two on the top and two on the bottom of the gloves compartment, right in the front. Behind the covers you'll find screws.

let me add a some more tips

1. when you remove the console box assembly be careful not to damage the small clip on the top middle portion beside the lamp assembly. It holds the cable release for the door
2. After removing the screws the whole console has to be pulled out with a gentle force

cheers!

Autozone, or most larger auto part stores stock these cabin filters for $20 each, you need two. Filters are VERY easy to replace, charcoal a little harder. Did mine a few months back. They even came with instructions

Good luck

Just did the charcoals this weekend. Bought them from Ebay for $55. Although they did not look as good as OE they fit perfect.

Took about 20-25 minutes.

Thanks guys for the instructions

I just loved the MB instructions, pull forward to pull back. But the funny part is, they were right

Need help with glove compartment removal

I disconnected and removed the lamp assembly. I then unscrewed all four screws (2 in front and 2 from inside top). I tried to pull the glove compartment assembly, but it seems to be catching on to something on the left side or bottom. Do I need to remove the knee protector panel below the glove compartment before it would come out? Is there anything else I need to remove or disconnect before the glove compartment slides out? Thanks in advance for the help!

I replaced my filters on 05' 430 thanks for directions worked just as posted. And the unfounded smell when blower motor runs has gone away as well must've been filters I was done start to finish in 20mins, compared to my acura which took 1hr and half. MB all the way...

When you say the ones in the "front", do you mean the screws with the rubber bumpers? If so, those are just adjusters for the glove box door.

If I recall correctly, there are two screws on the bottom of the glove box.

Also, remember to disconnect the cable for the glove box door latch.
