How do I make the drivers seat comfortable?
This is killing me, my drivers seat is just killing my ***. Its a 2002 S430 with now only 18,000 miles. The passanger seat is nice and fill with padding. When I sit on it it feels great. Then I get in the drivers seat and within 15 minutes its uncomfortable, feels like something is pushing up form underneth.
My questions are:
1: Does the seat have an air blader in the bottom part as well as the back part of the seat?
2: Is there a company that makes a replacement cushion to make the seat nice and plush?
3. Why does a company build a luxury flagship car with crap seats?
4. Does some one have th einstructions to remove the entire seat form the car?
5. I can't belive I have to get rid of my dream car over a seat cushion.
Help thanks

I thought it was just me who hated the driver's seat. Uncomfortable like hell, can't get comfortable driving it.
After sitting in an S55, the seats are wonderful...oh so supportive
I checked around some website for replacements, like amgkit.com, and they refused to give me a quote b/c they wanted my vin #
I'm wondering if the 03+ (sports package) seat are any different than the 03+amg seats???

Well, now you and others know the answer is there - go visit! Look for exactly the same question by the same contributor. The contributor seeking the answer, of course, did visit BW. I often post the more complex answers or other information on both - but not always. Usually just on the forum where I see the question first - which could be either one.
Of course, if you have something against BenzWorld, exercise your prerogative and don't visit.

Didn't mean to rustle a feather or two.
Sorry!

Mine are great too and I am 190 lbs. Why not write to MBUSA say seat has gone soggy. Will they supply a new one under 'goodwill' or at least arrange for you to be supplied a replacement at a reasonable price. I have seen many examples of Mercedes being very reasonable in cases like yours.

This is what Skylaw said on Benzworld, to save people looking it up:
1. The bladder is only in the back, unless you have one of the "massage" or "sport" options with additional bladders. Not common in an S430, and I believe they inflate side bolsters rather than the seat bottom (anyone who has these, please correct me if I'm wrong).
2. A custom car upholstery shop can probably pad it for you, lots less expensively than getting a new car.
3. Don't know. Have you tried the adjustment that slides the bottom cushion forward and back independent of the overall seat position? When retracted (moved all the way to the back) mine also seems firmer, as if it pushes up.
4. Someone does, but not me.
5. See #2.
All I would say is why not get a new seat from Mercedes as in my earlier posting rather than going to an upholstery shop.
