What do you guys think is better for a Mercedes, regarding performance and realibility Either a KLeemann Supercharger or a STS Turbo System that could be custom made for my S500.

Heres the link for the STS Turbo Site

Buy, with your own dimes, an appropriate AMG model. It'll be far superior.

He can sell his 2003 S500 and just add a mere 5k or 10k and get an S55 or s600.

But this man is trying to build a monster, you honestly have no idea how much he has already invested in this.

If you have the money, why would you build a monster on a 302 HP base when the factory sold a version with 604 HP? My homo S65 has a different transmission, brakes, differential, rear half shafts and suspension so the power doesn't break anything, including bones. I think the question why you'd want to start with this car if you're looking to build an all-out W220 is quite a reasonable one. If it's not about the budget, it's not a great choice.

The S65 engine can easily be modded to produce another 75 HP. It would make a great project if someone is trying to build a beast. An S500 (probably with Airmatic) is not a great beast platform.

good point whoover..... the only thing is that this is my baby and i just wanna keep it up to date with power during this surging horsepower car.

Im picking up an S63 amg at the end of this year.... but this was the first mb i purchased and has some value to me.

Honestly now i think im going to Remove the badges and wait till i get the kleemann Kompressor....then ill badge the engine up with kleemann emblems.

the other thing is that the mercedes v12 is one of the most unrealibe cars ever made... i have several friend who own the s600.. s55amg and a recent friend who got rid of his CL65 because it just gave him to many damn problems.

I met up with a couple guys from benzworld who are gonna help me Make a true Beast out of my S500 while keeping it realible.

thanks for the information. i think the new 6.2 engine in the 63amg models is a great engine.

It is N/A that pushes more then 500 horsepower and should me almost as realiable as the 500 m113 motor. only problem is that its a high compression motor. but well see since i will be purchasing one in 4-5 months.

There is no reason to "defend"your wealth, heads up on the more money then youll make in a lifetime comment, just because you are making it dosent mean youll allways have it.wealth is great.good on you for making it,but it dosent define who you are.you get pushed out of a rubber boat 10 miles from shore, the water temp is 58 degrees.you either swim to the beach or drown.
money dont float, and deserves little respect. bones

S600 here and no problems to date. Smoothest running engines around - by far! And the torque is unbeatable imho.....and the ability to "build" is pretty impressive too....

I would look into the STS kits if you have someone very good to do the work. Its a one off thing but if it works out could be very impressive. If you could get it to work you could most likely make alot more power with the STS system compaired to any SC setups. Plan on cutting up some stuff out back though, probably lose the spare tire well etc...I say go for it if you have the support. Hell, I've been thinking about this for a while as I don't even keep my spare out back. I kinda want to do an STS system..wanna buy an HPS system for the M113??....

hey it would def be a project....another thing though that was holding me back from buying the STS system is how do you tune your ECU for the turbocharger??? and who would do it??

i just did about (10) 0-60 runs last night as where i live i can do any quarter miles runs..also considering i need to fix my license lol.

but i just posted new pics of the runs on youtube and also updated sounds of how my car runs and the exhaust sound.

had 5 runs of 0-60 in 5.2 sec but didnt have my camera with me

when i went to get my camera i recorded a 0-60 run of 5.35 sec and that with my bro in the car and about 100 pounds of stuff in the trunk.

so im sayin 0-60 in the 5.1 sec range which is pretty damn good since the last time i did the test it was 6.3 before the mods.

Thats Amazing 5.2

The 2001 Mercedes-Benz S55 is 354/391 0-60 mph is 5.7- 5.9 seconds

Then you must be at 400 hp and 440 torque or some ****.

do a 1/4 Mile run and form there you can estimate it.

**** go get your car dyoned asap.
