For those of you who own 2005-2006 W220s

Or this?

I am asking because my original strut seals looked like the first picture, but after installing the repair kit it looked like the second image. Now after installing brand new struts, it looks like the first image again. I'm just trying to seek confirmation that my struts are the newest ones from the latest W220 models.
The second pic is without the compound that is used to keep the brass stem from breaking off.. Somebody did that wrong.
The new seal kit FAILED in my case at dealers FAULT for installing pre-dated equipment in my car as you can see by those pics, so they had given me a new strut at their cost. Did you have to pay for your new struts?

This is the best shot of my old car's engine bay that I could dig up, but if you look closesly at the passenger side you'll see the top of the strut looks like the second picture above...

So I say... what the ****?
Car was purchased as a CPO and serviced at multiple dealerships countless times...
I replaced my upper seals in my '00 in '03, after the paint cracked and I could see bare metal; I didn't wait for the metal to crack. The replacement was done with upper seals that look like yours (but had a different circle pattern stamped than the originals in my '00). My '05 mounts have the resin, as in the upper picture.
Dealers may have the older replacement parts in stock; but personally I would want the newest design - the one that seems to have been prone to fewer problems.
