Why so low????

I was watching this car on Ebay...Is this the trend on the value of these poor cars or was this just an exception. Judging the pics someone got an awesome car for an awesome price. I may have to wait on the S65 to come down some more as an only chance of having some kind of resale value...I would probably keep it forever anyway..

Most folks who have post facelift cars have a lot more than 20K in them..
I am 29 deep in my 04 and felt I was still above average though barely..
Imagine being 25 or 30K deep in a prefacelift 600 with all of the crap wrong with those, now this doesn't seem like such a bad deal does it??

I think this is more the trend.. of course this was an exceptional deal for somebody who wanted to drive a nice car and spend the equivalent of two car payments in gas every month.. I think the fuel issue has hurt sales of these ars more than the car issues themselves...
Goodluck waiting on a wholesale S65.. for two reasons,
1. AMG has historically and will more than likely always bring the most resale of ANY benz in any category..
2.Most AMG owners usually don't buy to sale.. they buy to keep till the end of time.. Only leasers with new money or kids of very very old money trade these cars every three to 4 years..
You will barely see great deals on used S65's out there because there just aren't that many compared to all of the other w220's. there should be a few on S55's because they date further back..
This was a good sale on that S600..

My S65 argument was that you may pay more in this case alot more for one, but in the hope of buying something that won't depreciate so hard...I am definitely in the market for one of these cars to add to the permanent collection. Was looking for a 55 car, but this is alot more bang for the buck..

I was even more shocked until I saw a '03 S600 with around 50K Miles going for only $21K in the local Autotrader here....That's an insane deal.
The thing with W220's is that, the reason they're dropping to obscene prices is because everyone's scared to touch them, Warranty them, etc. I was SET on getting another W220 after I sold my S500, but I was just too scared to touch one, so I spent alot more $$ on an E-Class with Warranty, etc.

So you are actually saying that this car will cost upwards of 20K in repairs over the next 2 years?
If I was a gambling man ( and had 20K to double), I'd buy it myself and take you up on that with and escrow wager...LOL.
Speaking of which I wonder as a average what a two year maintenance average would look like if we had some type of poll.. I know what mine is,, and its much less than 25% of 20K
