suspension default into a stiff setting

My 2002 s430, once in a while displays the " Airmatic visit workshop " message. The car then rides on the stiff setting. It will go back to a soft setting after I shut down for a while.

What can be wrong? My car just got out of CPO for 1 week!

Exactly what it said " visit shop " ! Your airmatic system may have a leak !! thats why the car went stiff setting to prevent any more damage to the car !!

message only shows up about once a month.

Strut show no signs of leak. Suspension remain the same height even after parked 2-3 days.

Could be the hot weather.

I will try to reset the computer and see if the message still show up.

I was driving then all of a sudden this message came on:

AIRMATIC
VISIT WORKSHOP

When the message came on the car went into sport2 stiff setting automatically and will not come out of it no matter what I tried.

I pulled over, shut off the car and checked to see if my airmatic collasped. It didn't it was looking fine @ normal height. I started it back up then the message went away and the car went back to soft mode. Wierd. Why did it do that? What should I check?

Hey, if it came up once in a while, why didn't you visit the dealer while still under CPO????

Best bet is to go and visit the dealer. Airmatic (as you know) will get the more expensive the more you waait...

My CLS 55 AMG does EXACT same thing. It gets stiff after the airmatic "visit workshop" up arrow in dash goes off. Car is up and no dropping off car. Sometimes it's uneven. Right now it isn't. Level but rides stiff as a board. I kind of like it. Takes away from the grandpa feel of this car 🤣 anyone with a solution to this? Brand New Arnott struts up front. Original airbags back. No sagging over night. Level as can be. Car goes up and down. Comfort sport sport 2 are all the same. Stiff as hell. I just kept driving on it. And even a master mechanic in Austin couldn't figure it out. We are only getting a code for passenger side accelerator sensor. Replaced it. Code still pops up. Blah blah this car blows
