Check this out, this guy put the first generation tails on this facelifted S55 and I think those lights with the quad mufflers look badassss:

Honestly, I've always thought both styles look good. The facelifted tails obviously look newer, but they are look a lot classier in my opinion. The 00-02 tails look a little more serious to me and I think pre-facelift ones go great with some black cars.

And call me biased, the frosty pre-facelift headlights look good too, but it takes a lot more to appreciate it.

 

imo i think the 03+ look WAY better....but that does look real interesting lol

 

In my opinion the pre-facelift taillights do look too close to the C-class...

I personally would never consider swapping the new ones for old style ones.

 

03's are way better especially on silver.

I would smoke the clear area on them...and that would complete the look..
