Every 6,000 miles and use mobil 1 synthetic

 

Transmission fluid, per MB, never.

I'd say do it once at around 50-60k miles and perhaps again at 120k miles.

Ike did get me. I fought it though, and won.

 

Transmission fluid every 30-40k miles.

To the poster who thinks MB says never, they revised that statement due to transmissions failing.

 

i just did mine at 51k miles and could not imagine leaving it any longer than that based upon the filter media and fluid color.

 

Really? About time.

I got mine changed at 30k. I'm don't remember why I got it done so early.

 

So is not true that transmission oil will last for ever, because I took it to my mechanic and he did some research and told me there no need for because it has a special oil that would run 4 ever.

 

Time to find a new mechanic.

Ever consider that he makes money if your transmission fails?

 

On my old car (1992, 500 SEL, W140 with 4-speed-automatic), I changed the transmission oil first time after 200k miles! and only, because the shifts got a little more noticable. Afterwards shifts were silky smooth again, no other problems.

 

So you change your transmission oil every 6000 miles and use mobile 1 synthetic? How is that?

 

He must have not read "transmission" and assumed motor.

 

...being able to read, gives a clear advantage over others...

 

i bearly did mine a few months back at 55K and also got the fuel filter change and oil change and air filters etc.
