Deal or no deal?for 2006 S500
Just need some feedback.
Wife is prego...trading in my 2007 Corvette C6 with 16K miles for a 2006 S500...with 20K miles...the dealer is offering a straight trade?
Deal or no deal?
Manny
The '06 500s are great cars IMO. I've always liked the W220s btu have never liked Corvettes so I'm a little biased!
How will i end up losing?
Manny
Okay what you are saying is i am getting robbed?
Arent the 2 cars pretty much the same on black book?
Well heres my car if anyone wants to trade and not let the dealership win.

Though i doubt a person in a big body sedan would want to go into a 2 dorr sports car.
One thing though, coming from a Corvette you might not like the 302 HP M-B 500 engine. I think you'd be happier with a late model S55 AMG.
By the way, nice 'vette!

whatever the dealer is selling you the S500 for is too much. this car is only worth average 35 to 37K Tops! Most of these cars that do sale are only sold two ways.. under tricky finance deals or wholesale. Simply because they just don;t move any other way.
The Vette is the same way, but in this case you have more equity in your vette than you would if you traded for the S-class I'm guessing around 10k's worth if not more.
Pay no attention to Nada, KBB or anything else. Look at the market value of that car. It's in the toilet. Yes, its a nice car but a straight trade for a 2007 vette that will bring 48K all day? I don't think so.
The reason they are so willing to swap is because they know they will have a easier time moving that vette than they will with the s500 which will more than likely end up at the auction anyway.
You'd be better off trading for a newer style ( w221 )S class if you want a mercedes. You can get a much better trade deal and the tax offset would be nicer. And it a much nicer updated car.
OR
selling your vette and finding a killer deal on a nice 04-06 S class and keep money in your pocket for pampers and motrin..( wife with new baby joke ).. Trust me after 3 kids and 3 pregnancies, you'll need plenty money for them both.
Don't let a dealer sweet talk you into giving them money that you already have in your pocket.
Ask them if they will swap cars and write you an equity check for 10K and see how fast he runs. otherwise don't deal.
look around and compare prices.
Alan
