A Mercedes obviously!

Anyone have a rough idea for those in the US market? I've been going through the cars.com listings and such but it's tough going trying to find one...Would it be fair to say 5% have it?

Id have to guess it would be more than that.

I have it, and like it, but I don't think its a "gotta have" option honestly. Maybe its because I don't drive it enough on long highway trips.

It wasn't a terribly expensive option from what i recall (about $2k I believe) so I would imagine that more than 5% of people selected it.

That said, if you find a car you love, you can retrofit distronic "fairly" easily.

The radar sensor is about $1400
The control unit is about $1000
The grille is about $400
Wiring harness and brackets are about $100

Labor I have no clue about.

I have it but am not too crazy about it. Given a choice between partronic and distronic I would certain take the parktronic. On a long interstate trip it is good as long as the traffic is not too bad. However, it really does impress all of my friends.

Can't believe they sold this car without xenons, heated seats, parktronic, leather and that high gloss wood. I got all that plus the wood steering

I wonder how the various packages and spec levels are decided for each model in each country. In the UK buying up to the LWB version meant you got Parktronic thrown in.

Maybe it is just that people would prefer to list other options before putting Distronic in their listing...

Parktronic is the parking assistance system that informs you when you are getting too close to an object. These lights build up and there is an accompanying bleep. The bleeps get faster as you get nearer the object, when you are in the red zone the bleep is constant.

Distronic is the radar assisted cruise control. Conventional cruise control keeps you at a steady speed, whereas Distronic keeps you at a steady distance behind the car in front. You can adjust this distance and the car brakes and slows down appropriately. It is adjusted and set on the dashboard.

There's a good demo on this video. Distronic bit starts at 7:30

Thanks, we definitely have parktronic. I didn't even know distronic was available on the w220. That would be a fun little feature to have.
