HELP, need a towing hitch for my S430
I need one to fit the S430, 2003. Regular towing hitches won't fit these cars, so they need to be custom made, which I have seen the prices between $250-$500.
Moving soon!!!

Speaking of which, since it's rare that someone would dare to what you are wanting to do, it is unlikely you are going to get a custom hitch cheaper than the 4250 to 4500 range. I may be cheaoer to get a tuck and a car trailer and be done.
I don't know about most people here but I would not dare put a tow hitch on my S-class.
Your car stop from 60-0 in x amount of feet.
now add 2k pounds of momentum pushing your car when you hit the brakes.
its now x(3)ft to stop instead of just x.
OP.........if you went to the traditional hitch places and they couldn't find one for your car, then more than likey it doesnt' exist and is not worth the hassle.
if you moving a long distance, check out a company called Upack and ABF shipping who transport your items and charge by cubic feet of space used. It's usually cheaper than renting a one way uhaul truck/trailer anyway.

I don't agree with the braking factor either lke phillipm stated as this car has ample braking. I've pulled a trailor with a lot less car.
The important point for the OP is that there is no way he is going to find custom hitch for his car for the pennies he is wanting to spend. So in his case he should look at other options.
The fact that it is "just a car" doesn't skirt the fact that it is rare that people put a tow hitch on these types of cars so he is going to pay a premium to get it made. Then there is the wire lighting, How do you do that without lighting up your dash like a christmas tree? It's just not the best option.
