HELP! Can't get in trunk or start the car!!
Ok I know I should've sold it by now but just didn't have the heart to, but my '00 S500 with 135k miles has a problem. Recently while in transit I'd notice a problem and the ESP light comes on and my time/date completely reset. This happened twice. Then the other night I came home, as soon as I shut off the car I noticed none of the electronics were working in the car. (Dome lights, unlock, etc) I'm hoping it's a loose battery terminal but I can't even access my trunk because my manual key is half broken from the top. I have a thin black thing that resembles the shape of the smart key with a pull-out manual key but that doesn't work on my door. (Don't know what it's for) Is there any other way to get into my trunk? Is it even the battery or terminal? Should I just buy one of those key-bump things and break into my own trunk? Someone please give me some advice! Thanks!

The 'thin plastic thing' is an ignition key that should be kept on your person at all times.
It has no infrared lens and is for use when the 'electronic key' battery has expired.
I had similar problems the other day. It turned out to be two fuses under the rear seat. I can't remember the numbers as I am at work but it was a 5 amp and 40 amp fuse that were gone. They both had something to do with the alarm but they also included things as you have described i.e. boot (sorry trunk), internal lights etc. Might be worth checking before you go to any cost
Dude I see your car parked almost everyday in your driveway... I saw some of the side moldings were gone... did they steal yours too or did you take them off for some reason?

hah yea it seems like my alternator went bad. i was hoping it was the battery.. went to roadside replaced it. it drives now but u can tell it's still acting up so need to drop it off at my mechanic and get it fixed just havent had the chance lately. the only piece that i think is missing is the little square that pops out to jack the car up. (had a flat i guess i forgot to pop in back and it broke off while driving) oxygen u didn't always have the biturbo 600 right? i feel like u used to have a 430 or 500 before? anyway congrats on the sweet ride
Yeah I had a black S500... one of my really good friends lives literally next door to you, on the left, I'm surprised you've never seen my car there because I always see yours.

yeaa i def did come to think about it. was actually never sure if it was a 55 or a 65 but looks like it was neither. never drove the new 6 but i can imagine how smooth and quick it must be. good choice on the upgrades btw..
