I would wager to bet no dealer will lower a vehicle. The vehicle sits at a pre-detrimed height as per DOT regulations.

This is something you would have to get an outside shop to do.

There has to be a legal margin of how much an S class can be lowerd. It's a fact that the SL is already lower than the S. There should not be a problem with the law if someone wants to lower their car near the specs of the SL.

haven't people lowered their SL's lower? but then agian.. i remember one person had MKB do it which isn't a mb dealer.. aftermarket.. so i think awiner and internet mafia are both right.. it just depends how low you want your car to be and it still has to be legal.

Lowering S500

Some did post that the dealers lowered their cars. My question is how do they lower the cars? Is it an adjustment (electronic or otherwise), or is it a mechanical replacement osf suspension peices?
Thanks

If a dealer would infact lower any car equipped with either Airmatic or ABC it would be done electronically. There are only two actual pieces of hardware that i know of which will lower a car with air suspension. And they are not made by MB or AMG.

MB can lower S class electronically!

MB can do this via the computer program in car. Will lower car origination point 1/2" or so and still car will drop .6" at speeds above 85 mph like normal.
Does anyone know where in the ECU program this adjustment would be made?

I'm not sure on the rest of your question but i believe they use the Star Diagnostics Tool at the dealer to do this mod.

star Diagnostics program

Can anyone tell me where the MB tech would need to go in the program system to lower the car?
Thanks
