Cool Cool S600 Option to order...

Ok, LX 470 did hit and run on my 2001 S600. Car is back and it's perfect. You can go to detailing section and see pics. Owner of body shop offered to buy the car, so........since there's now twin turbo V12 beast available.......

Been going back and forth what to get next.....S63 (have order in) but may cancel it, cancelled my E55 order since S600 is actually faster and more advanced suspension system, have order on next body style S600....getting first one in dealership.

Decided on S600 2004 with stone/chesnut interior and black exterior. Not ordering sport package since regular 600 comes now with 18" stock. Getting trunk closer, side shades, tire pressure monitor, drive dynamic front seats. Also getting dealer installed K40 radar/laser-jamming/detecting system front and rear and new V-Kool clear window tint that keeps out 94% of sunlight infra-red.

Coolest option that dealer is installing is RennTech revamp of computer management system so car will have Maybach 550 HP instead of detuned 493HP and will have no top end speed limiter. Torque will be 663 ft/lb!!! Factory warranty stays in full effect!! Can't wait to go to the drag strip and take some money.......

IMO i wouldn't spend much money on the current w220 S class. The car is scheduled for remake at earliest MY 2005.

Shrug, time to save up and get the W221

Great dealership in Atlanta!

Mercmaniac, thanks for the info on Atlanta Classics. I spoke with them and that is great that they will do the modifications you mentioned.
Too bad I'm in Tampa! I would sure like to know what program they access or change to lower the suspension. I have a freindly MB tech, but I don't think he is aware of this mod.
That's a great 600 you have coming.
Thanks

Is this possible here in the states? I have a car coming any day now and I had posted on chip tuning, link below

If it is possible to have your chip tuned up and still be under factory warranty then its a lay up. Please let me know

I'm 100% sure. Call Brian at Atlanta Classic. Also check out Renntech.com and pull up 2003 S600 and you'll see upgrade. They (dealer) are just sending computer box to them. Then dealer puts in different air filters and re-installs computer system. It's for real!

I call Renntech in Florida this morning and they said that they do this to alot of cars. Also said that it depends on your dealer and your relationship with them if the car is warrantied. Said some dealers work directly with them. I am to assume that then they can fudge the warranty with MBUSA if there is a problem. Tried calling Brian at Atlanta Classic, could not find telephone number for them, are they a registered dealer of MB?

Investment banker during 80's in Manahattan. Then started Internet company...took public then sold in late 99....was able to sell all stock in January of 2000. Just sold another company to Microsoft.

MercManiac, you mentioned ordering VKool clear tint on your next S600. Is this a MB factory option or installed at dealer/aftermarket?
A freind has a 2003 S600 Sport and was telling me all about the special windows that keep out heat, screw up radar detector unless you put it in the cutout.
I am curious, as I would like to have VKool installed on my wind sheild to help out, but can't find any dealers anywhere.
Thanks

Crankin....

Call Brian at Atlanta Classic 404-296-1313. He has the scoop on V-Kool and he can give you number to call. They've been in other fields with product (buildings, home window OEM, etc.)....could get the film and have your MB dealer window tint guy install.

GG,

Do you know when the new S body is hitting the dealers? I was told 2005, yet I'm not sure if anyone really knows.

MercManiac-
You might want to talk to "treynor" on the board, he has an '03 S600 with the Renntech ECU and besides that it is a stock car (I believe) but he has run a 12.1 in the 1/4 mile with it...extremely impressive for a full size luxury sedan.

Here are some of his posts:

Since you guys will have pretty much the same car...I guess its time to compare your times (once you break it in of course) and see who the better driver is

Hope this helps
