Oxygen--------Question!!

Hey I have a stock 00 S-500, and when the cars fan turns on to cool it self,
or I turn the AC on...the fan begins to make a noise, like a jet engine....but not that loud....its like a wine.....annoying !!!
If it was a 88 mustang id have to say that it was a Fan Clutch....but in this car....I have no idea, and I need to fix it!
Any ideas??

You need a new fan motor. Its actually the bearings but since you cant replace them because its sealed, you have to buy the whole unit. (Auxiliary fan assembly) you will need the whole unit. You can go the stealership and pay $700 plus or you can go aftermarket and pay around $300.

Install is easy, its 4 bolts and unplug the wiring harness. It takes about 20min if you know what your doing.

You'll need to get yourself a new fan... my fan just stopped working, see here: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...iator-fan.html

For your 2000 S500 the fan P/N is A220-500-00-93 and is about $850.00 at the dealer.

On eBay for $258: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MERCE...#ht_825wt_1224

Should be about $100 to install... I can't see it being any more than 30 minutes... but while the car is there I can get it up on the lift and we can inspect all other components to make sure you're doing good.

can we schedule it for next weekend sometime?
I don't think that I will have the fan by this weekend, plus I m hoping to fix my Left control arm on sat morning, it creaks, like a old man on a wooden horse carriage.

By the way, how much do u charge for labor to replace the driver side control arm?
