S600 vs Cl600

Are there any differences besides looks? I was leaning more towards knowing how they both ride, and how quiet they are... It's very important to me, so I'd like to thoroughly research about that.

I have a cl500 and s430, the s is much more like a limo/luxury car while the CL is much sportier feel and is not good for more than 2 ppl on regular basis. I dont know if the 600s all have ABC suspenion but ABC is standard on all CLs and is even more trouble than the Airmatic on most S.

If you are getting a 600 you mUST get an extended warranty. Buy a car with under 80k miles so you can get the cheap Chrysler 5/70 warranty. Money well spent.

I prefer the interior of the CL as it seems to wrap around you more. I like the additional wood on center console and doors.

S has tons of room in the back seat so if you use the back regularly I would say get an s. Get the CL if its only going to be 1-2 people most of the time, very cramped in back.

A Mercedes obviously!
The S600 had more standard items than the CL600...I had been humming and harring between the two for some months.

Parktronic was standard on the S600 but not the CL600. I'll see if I can remember the others...

I didn't even look at the 600CL because of two doors, and yes it does NOT have any room in the back. If this is an issue for you.

They both weigh in around the same, aka both in the 4000+ range that is.

The S has MANY more standard features, but you can probably spec out the CL fully loaded as well.

As far as ride, well the S is a bit of a boat, but it is auto crossable

By the CL if you want a smaller missile, get the S if you want a limo missile.

PS: Don't forget to visit Eurocharg either way, you will not be disappointed my friend

Ok great! It's tough, and if it wasn't hard enough. Now it comes to stupid stuff like the two have different dashboards and I can't decide which one I like more. The CL has more wood on the door, the S has a nicer looking stitching on the doors. Stuff like that. Sorry to ramble, but it was a great help!

One other thing I noticed was that CLs generally had lower mileage than S counterparts of the same age, I assume because they were second or weekend cars for the most part.

Really just depends if you want a sporty feel or a classy feel. The S600 is a large luxury sedan with a freight train torquey engine. The CL600 is luxurious and at the same time will punch a whole in the space/time continuum, but its not a kid lugger. Good luck!

CL interior is nicer. S interior is more comfortable. But thats very subjective.

Like I said, this decision should all depend on how many people will be in the car.

get S class hands down if you are going to have more than 2 people in it regularly....

You will not be happy with CL unless its just going to be 1-2 people majority of
the time.

Just how does the CL and S ride compare? Are they the same, or does the CL have a tighter ride?
