TPM system

Okay guys, I have received the cursed Visit work shop light for my TPMS.

The strange thing is, it still reads ALL tires accurately. When you shift to the tire display, it shows all the correct pressures, measured with my digital gauge to make sure.

Has anyone ever received this warning, with the display for tires still working

What is kind of funny is that while I was at Eurocharged, THANKS AGAIN GUYS, they had a MB tech show up to lower my car. And he asked if I had any problems with the TPMS yet? I told him no, and he commented, its only a matter of time. Go figure, he was only 4 months too soon.

A Mercedes obviously!
Did you get the Tire Defect warning? That came up on mine a few weeks back and the sensor needed replacing. The gauges were correctly recording the pressures on mine too. Done for zero under CPO

I guess if that hasn't come up it could be the control unit.

No tire defect warning, Just the Visit workshop red warning for the TPMS.

I have my fingers crossed that it is the spare. Thanks again Oliverk

I really do NOT want to go in, even though it is CPO'ed. I am LOVING my Jerry tune too much

I had major tpms problems until they replaced my control unit, but it may be a sensor.

I hear you, but I am still curios as to HOW the sensors are working, when I get the visit workshop red light I mean it shows all 4 tires at their correct pressure, which I verified with my digital gauge.

I am REALLY hoping that it is the spare, as I have NEVER checked it, and it is cold as heck here in PA.

There is no TPMS sensor on the spare tire. And don't do like I did and forget that I had a spare sensor in the trunk. Error city.

tpm on a w220= nightmare. if any sensor shows less than 20 months of batt life replace it. usually the sensor will go from 20 months to 0 in seconds then come back to life. its a weird system. if you go to a tire shop they should have a tpm tool that will tell you how much batt life the sensors have left.

Okay, went for a beat ride yesterday as the roads were dry.

Again, for the life of me, I have NO idea how the visit workshop light goes on, but all 4 tire pressure readings work and are correct. I guess I have a weak battery in one. I was informed that you can NOT replace the batteries in them. Is this true

Again, I really do not want to go to the MB dealer for something as silly as this.

Oh well, please chime in IF you know that the batteries can be replaced. THANKS guys for your input

just ignore the tpms , you surely will know when a tire is low. You can feel it.

hehe.

If it really bothers you it sounds like it is time for new sensors.

I would take em off and clear the code. useless feature imho.

NO you cannot replace the batteries. If you are sure it's the sensors just buy a set from tirerack. They are around $380. for the set.

Yeah, that what I thought as well my friend. Thanks for the advice, and my next set of tires I will fix them. I am guessing it is the batteries as it just started during our lovely cold weather here in PA. I really don't care about it, as I always check my toys with my digital gauge, but I just HATE that lovely RED warning on the dash.

Oh well, it gives me an excuse to burn up some rubber

FYI, if you are gettin a RED warning it should only say something like "Check tire RL, RR, Fl, or FR." IF it say's anything else then chances are it's not coming from either sensor and you should go and get it diagnosed to be sure before you relace the sensors and have the same problem.

if you can get someone with star diagnosis it is possible to program tpm out of the car.
