if you are talking about a 1995 E320, you are in the wrong forum.

your crank position sensor has gone bad, that should fix the problem

I don't see the relationship between the CPS and being stuck in park. See the W220 S-Class Owners Start Here sticky at the top of this forum. Under Transmission, it has links that specifically address the stuck in park problem.

Go to the top of the W220 forum initial page, and look at the second thread.

I did find it, and thank you a bunch. It was such a big help. I was able to fix that problem today. What a rim job by Mercedes Benz.

It was the infamous 5 cents flimsy plastic part, trying to move a big hunk of metal in order to disengage parking. You wonder why they couldn't have made it in steel. I guess deep inside they really don't give hoot about their reputation.

90% of the time its the pastic peice that needs to be removed. I did mine a few years ago.

There is always the possibility that (10% ish ) the switch under the break edal is bad and not allowing the solenoid to activate the plastic part which would make sense if the box was replaced. Very easy to find out as you can usually feel the solenoid activating if you press the brake pedal while holding your hand on the shifter

I bought a used one that needed programming, but by then I had already disassembled my old one as per the thread. I ended up swapping the modules. That did it.

Have a look at this video. These people have the part in both plastic and metal.
