Hey guys sorry to bother you but I have run into something weird with my car today. When I got home and put the car in park and took the key out I got out of the car and heard a VERY LOUD humming/whinny noise coming from the engine. I opened the hood and nothing was steaming or leaking. I checked under the car for any fluids and nothing. I turned the car back on and nothing was throwing errors. I was not paying attention to the temperature gauge while driving and can not say what the temperature was. I have tried looking on the forums for a similar symptom of what it could be but came up with no answers.

Any help would be great.

If it was from your passenger wheel its the pump.

yeah could be the airmatic pump

if you dont pull out the relay or disconnect the battery it will burn out and your car will end up slammed on the ground

I had the same thing occur and went straight to the dealer and they pulled the relay. Replaced it, charged me for an hour of labor?, and it was fine....

But wait...I was about to start a new thread about the problem I am having now. Help will be appreciated.

After a cold start (car resting overnight or during the work day), I hear a loud "PFFFT" air release type sound come from the front passenger (where the pump is) several times during the first 10 miles or so. The sound tends to occur when I am "cruising" (i.e., going down a hill or cruising to a stop...no foot on the gas). It is fairly loud...

Any ideas?

It sounds as if your airmatic pump may still be running too much, building excess pressure that is then released.

i have a similar problem I'm not sure actually if this is what are you talking about but with me ALMOST every time i press the brake no gas pedal going into a parking spot or stopping at a stop sign or traffic light i hear something like the front suspension is releasing air!! ( thats when the window is open ) also it doesn't keep releasing for seconds its like a one second air release thing. and mine doesnt have to stay overnight to happen. i could be driving for hours and when i get to a stop i can still hear it. maybe that would help but i have to fix my upper seal on both sides in the front.
let me know if thats what are you having because this is annoying and i wanna find the solution i went to the dealer and they didnt know !

I do experience it often at braking points too! Telling me the dealer didn't know what it was is not very comforting. So, I drove my car on Saturday @ 5pm and didn't drive it until this morning (Tues). I didn't hear it during my short morning commute...??? I have a feeling no one will know what the solution is.

I wonder if there is a way to "reset" the settings on the airmatic pump. Anyone know about that?

I need to schedule a time to let my car rest at the dealer so I can take them for a spin in the morning to let them hear the sound. I will post an update once I have them look at it.
